Remarks
My overall experience was good. The best thing to happen is that I got to know different people, I got to know the different culture, languages etc.
Entrance Preview
I gave COMEDK, IIT JEE, AIEEE, BITS, Manipal entrance examinations in the year 2009. My aim was to get CSE branch in a good college.My score and ranking were not good in any exam except COMEDK from which I got admitted to GAT college which was ranked 25th under VTU at that time.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum was in accordance to VTU. Since, it was a BE degree we had many theory subjects which were boring to study and hard to crack.
Internships Opportunities
There is internship for SC/ST students. I am not aware of the stipend offered but they pretty much studied for free of cost. No internships were offered for COMEDK students of GE category.
Placement Experience
Placements are mediocre. If you have above 70% average and good communications skills with good knowledge on quant then you will get decent opportunities through pool or any other way to at least get into some company like TCS, Dell, Infosys etc.
College Events
We had inter college cultural fests on an annual basis which were grand and inter college technical cum cultural fests annually. Both kind of fests had good participation and were a success.
Fee Structure And Facilities
For COMEDK students the fees is really high but not for CET grads.Annual tuition me for me was 140k and for CET student was 40k only.For SC/ST they get discount on top of 40k as well.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am not aware of any scholarship scheme.However loan facilities are available but one has to struggle a lot to clear all the formalities and get the loan approved.
Campus Life
Gender ratio was good, ragging was a strict no, there was no discrimination based on caste, creed or color.Workshops were conducted regularly. Different branches had different technical committee responsible for organizing workshops etc.
Alumni/Alumna
I don't interact much with college senior or with other alumni. But our CSE HOD sends out invitation to all alumni for regular meets. Alumni are also given respect when they visit college, which is great.
Exam Structure
Mid terms were common across colleges 2 exams a day spread across 3 days including weekend to help students relax.
