Remarks

College is overall good though it needs more expansion as patient load is increasing day by day. Infrastructure need some more upgradation specially the Emergency building. Facilities are awesome.

Placement Experience

4.5

We have our government run hospital attached to the college where every MBBS student is mandatory to do 1 year Internship though which is quite hectic. Stipend is around 30000 INR. We have a huge patient load in our hospital so learning is very easy. Jobs are secure. As some prefer for private or some in government sector.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is nominal. Government of West Bengal runs this college. Annual Fee: 9040 INR It looks very cheap but wait our Annual Hostel Fee is JUST 144 INR. Very friendly for poor students as Private colleges charge a huge amount of money.

Fees and Financial Aid

Though Medical Studies are very expensive. Government provides subsidy on fee of every student in MBBS so every bright student can get a valid opportunity to study medicine. Apart from this, scholarships are provided to students belonging to Minority community to encourage their participation in these fields.

Campus Life

4

1. Half of the students are girls. 2. Sports activities are held annually which is quite good. 3. There is no gender biased discrimination. 4. Also no discrimination based on religion, care, race etc. 5. Our college is the most politically stable one. As the Student's Union isn't very much keen in politics rather it works for students benefits.

Hostel Facilities

4

I'm in College hostel named Lalit Memorial Boy's Hostel. 1. This year it got renewed. So infrastructure is very nice. 2. Currently 2 to 3 students share each room. 3. Hostel fee is just 144 INR. 4. Each floor has several toilets and bathrooms which are neat and clean. 4. There is 24×7 Security guard at hostel's gate. 5. Cold Water Cooler is available which is very much relief to us in summer.

Alumni/Alumna

Interaction with Seniors is awesome. They help so much in every part when we need. From studies to accommodation to even Girlfriend/Boyfriend matter, they support. And it is very good to have healthy interaction with seniors in Medical profession.

Admission

I was very good in Biology. So had an ambition of being doctor. So I went for preparing for MBBS entrance exams. 1. At all India level a single MCQ exam NEET is conducted annually. I prepared for NEET in Kota, Rajasthan for 2 years and got 4692 AIR Rank. 2. Then I filled for online counseling on MCC website. Where I filled my college choice based on search on internet and some medicos. 3. I was allotted R. G. Kar Medical College in 2nd Round of counseling. Where I reported on 22nd July 2019 and got admission by submitting and verifying required documents.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty it depends. Some are so great and helpful. Also some are So So. However overall they are well qualified and able to do what they are paid for. As it's a Government College with Super speciality Hospital attached to it in Metro City, faculties are great overall.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is completely based on NMC new guidelines. Along with the theory classes where we know the structure and their working in dissection we actually see them on cadaver . Lectures should be more interesting as it's get boring to literally listen the concepts for first time like a story and at the end we forget everything

Course Curriculum Overview:

Medical field is a really good field in my opinion to serve humankind and learn about science of nature and life!the curriculum is a little overpaced and there are 19 subjects which are taught in a timespan of 4.5 years which is a bit hectic! There are 4 professional exams and 9 semesters which have pretty good difficulty and assess our skills and education. We have regular examinations in around 4-5 months each. Only thing id like to change in the curriculum is better assessment of many topics which are taught pretty well but aren't examined much leading us to waste our time in focussing on them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, mbbs is very hard and long term process. You will be bored in 1st year because you cant get real clinical cases. But in Final year, 3rd Prof Part 2, you will get huge pressure. Because there are total 11 subjects, you should study in final year. It is a great burden for all. I'm not satisfied with Nmc curriculum. They are not thinking about students. They are implement their rules in chilled ac room. But they don't know the real scenarios.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite planned and great and has a lot of advantages in having a clinical and learning diagnostic approach to various diseases. One area where the curriculum can improve is by having more practical classes rather than theoretical classes. The exams are quite difficult but are quite planned to make you understand the clinician and the passing percentage is 50 percent.
