Remarks
College does provide good teaching and has good infrastructure. Placements shall be provided although the students have to put in their efforts to get the best out of it.
Course Curriculum Overview
As required for a fresher the subjects that are required are taught and the syllabus will be completed as per the schedule sometimes even earlier. The teaching staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Along with the provided syllabus, a few more topics should be added as industries now demand knowledge on latest topics which would be helpful for the placements as well. There will be placement training for both aptitude and interview skills.
Placement Experience
TCS, Wipro, Infosys are the major hirers. Companies like Eurofins that are related to our course have visited our college for placements. 60% is the minimum requirement for being eligible for placements. Around 40% of the students have been placed from my branch. Placement training is provided in the form of both aptitude and interview skills training. But the major problem is the number of core companies attending our college for placements is very less.
College Events
The technical fest in our college is VertechX and it has a wide range of events where students get to showcase their technical skills. It has a very good participation number as students from other colleges come to take part in this event. The cultural fest is known as Swayam and this fest also holds a variety of events but the participation number is average and fest is also average as the management does not give it a higher priority.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees collected by our college annually is in the range of 85k for the students who have secured seat through CET excluding hostel and transportation charges. Modes of payment available are net banking, DD. Management seat students have to pay more fees. There is not much detail given about the entire fee structure.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college gave approval for the scholarship being awarded by the Central as well as the state government. The scholarship amount depends upon the type of scholarship being applied.
Campus Life
The campus is very well maintained and the campus life is good. The male to female ratio is around the range of 60:40, workshops are being conducted on a regular basis, the college does not support ragging of any form and takes it in a very serious manner. Students from all sorts of place are accepted and there is no intolerance as such.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are very friendly and helpful. They provided guidance on the subjects to be prepared for, lab sessions, placements.
Admission
The world of electronics is diverse and interesting with all the latest developments in the smartphone market, laptops, smart gadgets etc. of which I wanted to be a part of, hence I chose electronics and communication engineering as my branch and MVJ College because a senior suggested me that the college has good teaching staff and provides good placement opportunities. I wrote KCET, based on my ranking I applied for a few colleges in which I got the seat in MVJ.
Faculty
In my department, there are around 20 lecturers and they are well qualified and knowledgeable and are helpful. Most of the faculty have completed their masters and some of them hold a PhD as well. Some even have experience. Concepts are very well taught and any doubts regarding the topics will be cleared by the lecturers.
