The college is a good place to study if you are looking for a good education and college life. Extracurricular activities are conducted and encouraged but are not up to the mark.
Course Curriculum Overview
Bachelor of Technology in mechanical engineering has a syllabus covering all the fundamentals and gives an exposure to the development of the field with industrial-based subjects. we are also provided with choices to take certain subject according to our needs. The curriculum is being revised for every 2-3 years.
Placement Experience
Getting placed in not an issue at all. Almost 70-80% of the student will be placed. Since the requirement for engineers in the core field is less, only a few core companies come for placements. When compared to other colleges, the placement in the core is very good over here.
College Events
One of the few drawbacks of this college is that the feasts are not conducted in a proper way. It does happen, but not in a very grand manner. The campus imposes certain restrictions so that cultural and technical festival is conducted with limitations.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee paid if you come through SRMJEE is 240000 per year for Mechanical engineering. It includes tuition fee, book fee and career development fee. The tuition is usually constant throughout the course but the other fee tends to fluctuate. The fee is quite a little too much.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college provides scholarships. If your rank is less than 10,000 you can avail a 50% tuition fee waiver. Even if you miss this opportunity, don't worry. Every year scholarship is provided for students scoring CGPA above 9.00. even student exchange programs are available.
Campus Life
The gender ratio purely depends on the course you opt for. In the department of civil or mech, we cannot spot a lot of girls. But compared to other colleges there is a good ratio in these departments. The ratio is fairly equal in CSE, IT, ECE and EEE. There is a vast diversity in culture and language amongst students because people from all over the country can be spotted in this campus.

Every final year student is requested to join the alumni and they are maintaining it in a good way.
Admission
The college conducts SRMJEE every year in the month of April. They will shortlist 70000-80000 student for the counselling. Clear guidance will be given. It is a one day process and you will be called based on your rank. I preferred SRM Ramapuram because I live in Chennai and or is very hard to find a good college inside the city. The campus is fairly big with almost all the amenities. The location is being developed drastically.
Faculty
The faculties are well experienced. We can also spot a lot of young faculties. Therefore the culture is very good and student-friendly. They are jovial and helpful. All the rooms are smart classes and the faculties utilize them very well. Even the faculties are encouraged to do courses therefore, they are updated.
