Vishwakarma government engineering college is overall an elite college in the list of government colleges in the state of gujarat. Though some departments may not be excelling in their fields, but department of computer engineering has reached a pinnacle which most of the colleges affiliated with GTU have not.
Course Curriculum Overview
Academics in Vishwakarma government engineering college is governed by the Gujarat Technological University(GTU). The course is spreaded over 4 years(8semesters) and could be finished within 8years. There is a midsem and a end semester exam in every semester apart from submissions and vivas.
Placement Experience
Placement is above average in most of the branches, but It's around 99% in computer engineering. Companies visiting include Tata Consultancy service (TCS), meditab, silverwing, etc. with work related to programming, web development etc. Internship are not directly provided by the college but helps in connecting with the start-ups which are in need of an intern.
College Events
GTU central techfest is a fest which involves all the colleges Affiliated with GTU. This fest was hosted by Vishwakarma government engineering college for consecutive two years in 2018 and 2019. Apart from these it is hosted by the college in almost every alternate year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It has an on-campus seperate boys and girls hostel. This is a government hostel so the fees for the same is very nominal. Fees for the academic year 2019-2020 was only Rs 2000 for the entire year. And the security in the girls hostel is notable.
Fees and Financial Aid
Goverenment provided scholarships could be availed by the students. The common requirement for which is an income below rupees six lakhs per annum. To avail the scholarships an easy procedure is to be followed which is well instruced by the faculties after the start of the term.
Campus Life
Workshops and seminars are organized by the different clubs frequently. Famous speakers are invited in different talks related to both academic development as well as non-academic development of the student.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumini network of the college is really strong. A club under the title of VGEC Alumini Association works tirelessly for organizing different seminars and workshops, even talks on experience of a notable aluminus in the outside world.
Admission
Admission process is carried out by the ACPC committee. The aggregate of the 11-12th standard percentage and the marks obtained in the gujcet examination creates a merit list. Admission is granted to a student according to the eligibility in the merit list. There is no other way for the admission process.
Faculty
The faculties are highly resourceful and does work in the overall development of the students. Even various seminars are organized by the faculties to bring awarness and introduce the students to the real world issues.
