What's like getting into NRS Medical College for MBBS

I feel i am blessed that i could get into this College. There is nothing bad in this College. If you love medical, then it is the best College in west bengal i will say to bump into. Nrs has a very good patient load everyday. So for learning medicine you can not get anything better than this.

Ok. So mbbs is of 4. 5 years with 1 year of internship mandatory. For this last 1 year you will be paid. (Happy) You have to study 19 subjects namely Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry for 1st year Pharmacology, pathology, microbiology, forensic medicine for 2nd year Community medicine, ophthalmology, ent for 3rd year Medicine, surgery, gynaecology, pediatric for 4th year. You will have total 9 semesters for your College and 4 university examinations whose scores are ideal and will be required for your future placements. First 3 years you can chill in your life and study byt the final yr can be very very hectic. You will have days when you have to go to wards, at the same time attend lecture class, demonstration class all. But after passing final year you can call yourself a DOCTOR. A proud doctor. During the course of mbbs you can opt for research like you can release your thesis paper, and can assist a phd scholar. You have a lot of scopes.

Earlier i said that after MBBS course you will be offered 1 year of internship and it is mandatory to do. You will get stipend in this period of roughly 25000 per month. In the internship time you will have to do your duties in in various departments like medicine, surgery, Pediatrics, community medicine gynaecology, ophthalmology and ENT. it will be of rotatory in nature in every department you have to walk for nearly one month. After the internship you can opt for Housestaff ship which will be also of one year. And you will be paid. For the HouseHousestaffship you have to choose only one department. After the housestaffship you can opt for the post of demonstrator or you can go for your post graduation for which you have to again apply for an entrance examination.

Nrs Medical College holds one of the best College fest of West Bengal that is ECSTASY every year. The five day long fest can surely snatch your boredom. It includes everything. From academic quiz to cooking competition from dance competition to couple challage from guest artist show like this year we had singer sonu nigam to fashion show to dj night it has everything. All the Colleges of west bengal take part in our fest it is that big. Apart from the main fest we have prefest that is also quite big. We celebrate Saraswati Puja, we celebrate eid ul fitar. For the academics various seminars are held monthly, various quiz competition is also there.

Minimum fee structure. Extremely feesible. There is no extra charge nothing. No one will force you to give any additional fee. Admission fee is only 1500 rs For each semesters 4500 rs (total of 9 semesters). So all total 42000 rs only.

Yes. If your family income is 200000 per annum you will be given scholarship that is you will have not to pay any semester fees provided ypu are getting 60% marks in university examinations. If you have any caste certificate OBC A you will have additional scholarship of rupees 40000 annually. There is a lot of scope for scholarship in this College. For pursuing MBBS you can get loan from anywhere, you can get loan from Bank from post office etc.

From 2016 here Taekwondo is being taught to the interested students free of cost. This will give you mental and physical strength both. Besides tgus there are teams for football and cricket. Our College posses a big playground too. There is a cultural committee also. Gender ratio is like 3 male to 1 female which is sad i know. But you will get students from every place and every religion. Though no of hindu students are more. But muslim, Christian students are also present in a large number. There is no economic barrier. High to low all come and sit in the same bench. Politics in this College is not very strong which is actually beneficial for studies.

If your house is clearly away from the College you will definitely get hostel accommodation. Though the hostel seats are limited but now new seats are being added for the hostel. Forr the girls the hostel rooms are definitely big and one room can have four students. For the interns there is a separate hostel For the boys there is also a 4 storied building for hostel and per room can accommodate for students There is continuous supply of water electricity in every hostel. there is regular cleaning of washrooms, floors and rooms. The hostels are just 2 minutes away from the academic building of the College and If you opt for PG, the average rental near this area is about 4000 per month for single student and in a PG you may have to share your room.

In medical fraternity we all are colleagues. Seniors here are very helpful. Without their help you will get it quite hard to pass. Everybody here is with you to sort out your problems from academics to hostel allotment. Rather every year a reunion is hold where scholar alumni come and join us and motivate us to do something big.

Since childhood i have been dreaming to become a doctor and nothing else. Mind you a good doctor. So getting chance into a good College was crucial. And now Nrs is one of the best medical College in West Bengal. And getting chance in one of the best College was not easy. It takes a lot of dedication to get into such prestigious College. But it is not like you cannot. You will definitely if you think, dream and try. To get admission you have to qualify NEET UG that is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. Every year in the month of may it happens. And Application Form fillup starrs at the month of January. Mainly class 11th and 12th standard biology, physics, chemistry question comes. Total 180 questions. Out of which 90 questions for biology and 45 questions each for physics and chemistry. Each question is mcq type and carries 4 marks and negative marking of 1 mark if wrong. So be careful. I will say 1 year preparation is enough to qualify this test. Normal reservation is there like any exams also. Once you qualify you will be asked for counseling and there you go.

It is a government College and the faculties are really good. They all are highly educated and having a degree of MD or above. Each faculties are interested more or less to teach us. It is their duty to teach us. They will. They will teach according to their interest of specialisation. There are various posts for the faculty. there assistant professor, professor, clinical tutors, associate professors, registered medical officers, and demonstrators. So you will get best quality of teaching here.
