Abhigyan Prakash's Review On St Anthony's College, Shillong

We are unable to use our phones openly in the College campus even if we have some important work we need to enter the canteen to use our phones and this thing is looked after by the Principal's Assistant and so we have given him the code name of 'Chacha'.

The Course curriculum is quite interesting and scoring until and unless you don't pay attention. The exam structure is like a two way system where we first need to sit for our internals which is for 25 marks and then our finals are for only 75 marks.

Honestly Speaking as I'm new to this College and just pursuing my bachelors I'm unaware of the placements and stuff in our College and I seriously don't know about internships because for our subject we have not been provided any intership opportunity yet.

College Week, Republic Day, Independence Day, Teachers Day, Stephenian Show (Boys Hostel Week), Margaretian Show (Girls Hostel Week). Talking about participation it is quite high in every event where different types of games are conducted for everyone to play and our students are so excited for these events because one thing in our College events is common and that is a Jam session. Oh, I just forgot about the Freshers' and Farewell.

Annually we pay almost ?19000 which is not the same every year. Last year I paid ?17690. First quarter of ?16000 and second quarter of ?1690. It is quite affordable but for backward classes they provide concessions amd scholarships.

Honestly I'm not absolutely not aware of the scholarships that is been provided because they are all for the categorised ckasses and not for the general class. But have heard that soon they are going to conduct a scholarship exam for the interested students.

Starting from Gender ratio, we can say that it 50:50. The cultural societies are there for people from different regions and it's like you can join whichever society you wanna join. On the other hand, There is not too much politics because we conduct elections only for our DEPARTMENT DR.

Me and my seniors we do share a nice relationship and some of them even consider me as their family. It has taught us the junior senior relationship that we should have and hence I try to share the same experience with my juniors even though they might not think the same which they'll understand as they become a senior.

I was interested in the subject Economics and my parents were not ready to send me outside northeast. So I chose this College and sat for the entrance exam. Here, we need to sit for the entrance exam for only a few subjects.

The faculties are highly qualified and they are so interested to teach us that they are ready to take extra classes any time. The faculties are mostly doctorate degree achievers and some are still doing their Phd and some have just entered the College after their Masters.
