ANITS - An NIT in Vizag

College management was wonderful But my only suggestion is that college should be able to conduct more events by inviting the Alumni students too, so that our experiences may be helpful for current students.

I have given EAMCET entrance test and had opted ANITS, as its one of the best colleges in Vizag. It has got wonderful placement record and education system is excellent.

ANITS follows AU course structure, it has all the foundation details that a student must be aware of. Im from an Information Technology background, many people are in myth that there is a difference for CS and IT, I would say there is no much difference in the course structure for CS and IT. All the basic knowledge needed is available in the curriculum. The course is well structured in a way that student get to be in touch with all the areas of IT/CS.

ANITS had started internship process recently. They are now allowing students to work on their final year projects in companies. They are providing a scope to take internship outside the city. All the top companies had come to hire freshers. Companies like Google, TCS, Infosys, Capital IQ, Capgemini, Wipro, L&T etc have been hiring students every year.

Every year the placement record count in ANITS has been increasing, In my batch they were around 250+ people (out of ~400) placed in TCS, Capgemini, Capital IQ, IBM etc. TCS and Capgemini has offered 3.26l per annul, Capital IQ has offered 4.75-5.75l per annul depending on the role.

They were so many cultural and technical events celebrated. Every department has their own committee to get the events done. International conferences were organized like FICTA where may people had the opportunity to get their publications for Springer. We had so many delegates (across the globe) who had attended this event. Later we had CSI events, individual Department events like HILIOS, IGNITION etc. We also had a complete college event like CURIOS where many paper, post presentations, network management etc events were conducted. Above all, we also had ROBOTICs, Coding contests (Infosys coding contests).

The fee policy is fair enough. Rs30,000 was the government fee and around Rs 5000 was the Admission fee, building fund, examination fee. Another Rs 15000 is for the college bus. Students who had the option to reimburse were given all the necessary instructions to get reimbursed. If they are any miscellaneous amount charged, then it has been refunded year end.

My engineering went by educational loan. College has provided all the necessary documents to get the loan process done. I have rewarded every year for scoring high, ~Rs 2000 was given as award of appreciation. Students who had excelled in sports and other co curricular activities were recognized and awarded.

All the extracurricular activities performed by the students were always encouraged. But there wasn't sufficient recognition for sports. Students were not encouraged more in sports activities. There should be a coach for each game. The ground is very bad to play outdoor games. They were very less indoor games. Students should be given motivation to play sports apart from education. ANITS lacks in this. I have never heard of racism feelings, but they was always community impact in the campus.

I cannot comment on Hostel facilities, because I was a residential student, But I have heard the hostel facilities have been improved now when compared to previous years. They was separate Boys and girls hostel with a warden. Students were not allowed to
