Remarks

The reservation of morning batch only for boys gives a negative vibe for class room interactions. The lack of diversity among students created by it is negative. On the positive side the academics is top notch. The facilities are at par with any good college.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course structure was pretty decent for b.com course. We had a mid term and end term exams. The final mark included internal marks which comprises of attendance marks, presentation etc. There was not much use of labs as the course didn’t need it. Overall the exams were pretty chill

Placement Experience

3.5

There were placement opportunities. But it is not as intensive as an mba college. Reputed companies like uber and E&Y used to regularly visit our campus. Internship opportunities were limited. You had personally contact faculty for getting some internship

College Events

4

The major event is Xavotsav. This is conducted usually in January. It is considered to be the best campus event in kolkata. People from various colleges across the country came to participate in it. There were also other regular events conducted by various committees in the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very feasible. The overall fees came around 25,000 without the hostel facility. This had to be paid in four terms. I didn’t use the hostel so can’t really comment on the hostel fees and quality. If you had trouble paying your fees you could always talk it out with the principle. He was usually willing to exemptions if you give genuine reasons.

Fees and Financial Aid

People usually don’t take loans as the fees are very minimal. The college provided scholarships based on merit cum means basis. I’m not aware of further details as i never got it. Also as I mentioned special exemptions were given by the management on case by case basis

Campus Life

4

The morning batch in which in I studied was boys only. So there was no gender ratio. The evening batch was mixed and had about 80% females. The hostel was strict so there was no dorm parties but parties were conducted outside the campus by various committees. There were regular works by various committees and authorities all around the year.

Hostel Facilities

3

Didn’t opt for the hostel facility. But from what i heard the hostel had 2 and 3 people sharing rooms. It was pretty clean but had strict rules. Students coming from outside the state were given preference for hostel allocation

Alumni/Alumna

The senior students were very helpful when it came to mentoring the juniors. There was no ragging or discrimination based on the year. The alumni networks is very active and has members from all levels. Never had to seek any help from them but I believe they would have definitely helped if need arised.

Admission

The students were selected based on their 12th marks. The cut off usually comes around 95% for the morning batch. For my process the list was announced the day before interview. We had to reach the college next day for the interview. The interview process was pretty simple rather than an interview its just a verification of your certificates and confirmation of your acceptance.

Faculty

5

This college has may be the best faculty in india after Sri Ram college. All the faculty were top notch. Certain professors were considered to be some of the best professors in India. There were many authors among the faculty. They also kept themselves very updated

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.
