Review

Our College is situated in a very good atmosphere. A positive remark would be that we are provided with a bunch of very talented teachers. The library and departmental labs offers a very wide range of open discussions.

My opinion about the course would be nothing but great. It makes a human understand himself and those around him. The exams are conducted semester-wise, two semesters per year. Undergraduation or the BSc course of psychology is a three year programme consisting of a total of 6 semesters. The Postgraduation or the MSc course is a two year programme with a total of 4 semesters. MPhil is a next good option if anyone's looking for a better job opportunity.

The placements starts at the ending of the last semester of post graduation programme. Internships are available after the completion of 3rd semester of undergraduation programme. The mental health institutions, social working programmes, famous MNCs and renowned hospitals of our town were among the internship offered places. The stipend provided was 10000 rupees per month excluding the food, accommodation and travel expenses.

Our College has topped inter-College sports under our University. Every student is promised a well organized fresher's day, cultural days, national days,arts day, sports day and finally a farewell programme each year. The chief guests includes the young actors, singers and actresses. It was a proud moment when the psychology department topped the cultural and arts day.

The fee structure is a feasible one. Especially if you're admitted into the College through merit seats, there is a very few chance of you paying any money to the College. The merit seat students only have to pay their exam fees which are around 500-1000 rupees per semester. Non merit students have to pay around 10,000 per semester which makes it 60000 for the whole under graduation programme.

The CH Muhammed koya scholarship is a very useful one. Also, many scholarships are provided by the government. One of the initiative of the government to improve studies was to introduce useful scholarships.A certain scholarship provides about a total of 20000 per year which enables the students to pay their own fees.

The psychology lab of our College is a well facilitated one. It has all the equipments and materilas required for our curriculum. This also includes the expensive materials like ishihara's colour blindness test, Horizontal vertical illusion and Muller lyer illusion.

The hostel provided by our College is highly appreciative. The hostels are build for boys and girls separately in the middle of woods which are very calming and soothing. The faculties assigned are very responsible and supportive.

The seniors of our College still keeps touch in with us. They keep updating us about the current trends in psychology field and job opportunities. Their constant reminder is essential inorder to bring out the best of each one of us.

I was filled and given the form for merit seats. After coming in the top 50, interview was done based on our knowledge in the subject and previous grades out of which 25 students got admitted in the College. I chose psychology over other courses because more than being a better social animal, it enables me to be a better human.

The faculties of our course are very talented,highly creative and educated. Their qualifications include MPhil in Psycho-oncology,applied Psychology, Social and Counseling psychology. The faculties teach with high interest.
