St Joseph's College Devagiri- College review

It's an amazing college with positive and negative remarks as it is autonomous the management always take a decision whether it's good or bad and its sometimes very strict but apart from that the college is very beautiful with acres of place with beautiful trees and shades.

The curriculum is very broad and vast touching every part of commerce. The curriculum has 5 core subjects except in the 1st semester where you learn language and English. It has a passing mark of 50% which is higher than most of the courses offered in the college.

Yes, it does provide internships to selected students and it does have a placement center. The college also has a dedicated wing to conduct placement centers. Pg and Ug students have both opportunities regarding this. Many top-notch companies have conducted placements here. I have heard of many Aluminis who have successfully got placed through the college. I haven't graduated so I don't know about the experience college provides good placements for the students. A reputed company like WIPRO has conducted campus interviews in our college and many other banks and firms also conduct interviews. Many students had entered to jobs through these campus interviews and placements.

All sorts of events are conducted in our college. The biggest event of them all is NIRVANA which is a national level management fest with participation all over the country's different colleges. There is cultural fest like REFLATE and ENIGMA with things like dance singing quiz and technical events such as ENVI which is conducted by the computer department where many tech enthusiasts participate all over the country.

Every government scholarship is offered to the aided branch and most of them are available to the self-finance as well Above that, there are management scholarships and also aluminum scholarships to students who excel and are outstanding.

The gender ratio is 70:30 for girls: boys. They are very famous for extracurricular activities be it cultural or sports or arts. It is said to be the best in Kozhikode and it has the best infrastructure available with a massive football ground and basketball ground also an indoor stadium as well for students to practics.

The college has two hostels, Tagore hostel, and Chavara hostel. Tagore hostel is a boys hostel, it has both pg and ug students. Chavara hostel is a girls hostel, only pg students and teachers can stay here. It is very feasible with an average rent of over 25000 per year.

They are extremely helpful be it conducting or coordinating activities. They also offer a high value of support financially and mentally. They also have an association of alumni who the students can approach with any problems they are facing.

I wanted to do Bcom professional as it is an overlay of most of the foundational courses to be done after graduation and it is only one of the few colleges that offer this course in Kerala. You submit the application form online on their college website and then they message you for the interview and then from there on selected based on merit.

They are highly qualified and trained with great patience. This is why this college is immensely popular because it is said that it has the best commerce faculty staff in south India. The faculty is absolutely intellectual and student-friendly. The head of the department is vibrant and also a great motivator. It enables the students to be free of academic burden and enjoy the subject as it is. We have a very supportive and helpful faculty. Our faculty consists of a HOD and 6 teachers. The faculty maintains a good relationship with the students and helps in every activity related to the students. Faculty members are very well trained to teach the students in such a way that studying becomes an easy task.
