An analysis of life at SH COLLEGE, THEVARA

This is a very amazing college to learn in Kerala. It's a temple of knowledge that provides the students with various opportunities to showcase their talents and build up their skills. Once you become a Heartian, you'll always remain as a Heartian.

The BCom program is divided into 6 semesters. In the 2nd year at sem 4 Students have to undergo an internship program and in the last year at sem 6 students have to do project work. Total marks are out of hundred of which 25 marks belong to internal exams and 75 marks belong to external exam internal has 5 marks for attendance 5 marks 4 for first internal 5 marks for 2nd internal 5 marks for assignment and 5 marks for the seminar.

In the second year, the students have to undergo an internship program. They have to find a place to work themselves. Companies like Deloitte, McKinsey, Ernst and young come to Sacred Hearts to place the students.

Once every week there will be programs organized by the college Union and the students can celebrate and enjoy those events. The major event held in the college is the Heartifest which is a spectacular event. Moreover, each department organizes its on department fests.

The fee structure is quite affordable as compared to other self-financing colleges and students have to pay around 30000 to 35000 annually as fees in the self-financing courses. In the aided course the fee is around 5000 to 6000.

The students of aided departments can avail the scholarships instituted by the central government for those students who have secured good marks in the Plus two examination. Moreover, the college offers financial assistance to students who find it very difficult to pay their fees.

The college has well-equipped physics, chemistry botany Zoology, and Computer Labs. There is a well-built basketball court and indoor stadium plus a well-equipped Gymnasium. The main ground of the college is well maintained.

Alumni Association of Sacred Heart College (AASH) functions as a nodal agency for maintaining liaison with the alumni and to involve them in the development and growth of the institution, which operates through its full-fledged web portal. In addition to this umbrella body, the college has alumni associations for individual departments and chapters in North America, Middle East, New Delhi, Bangalore, and Chennai, which meet at least once every year.

The college offers four-degree programs in commerce namely BCom finance and taxation aided, BCom finance and taxation self-financing, BCom computer applications, and BCom travel and tourism. The admission is based on the marks of major subjects like accountancy, business studies, Informatics practices, or mathematics, and economics. The marks scored in English are not considered while computing the index marks. The cut-off for getting admission in aided is above 98 percent for other courses Students may need to score more than 95 percent to enter into the open merit list.

The college has got a bunch of amazing faculty members who are dedicated and are very loving and caring to the students. Each teacher gives individual attention to the students and motivates them to perform well by pointing out their mistakes and praising their achievements.
