Remarks
College needs to have a better industry alignment and live projects. That would help students in getting a good corporate perspective.
Entrance Preview
My CAT results were not as I expected they would be. Alternately I filled up forms for XLRI, XIME, GIM, XIMB. With my score i had options of XIME, XIMB and GIM. I chose GIM because the founder of GIM founded it on the exact same principles as XLRI was founded. The Focus was education and learning.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum was very well designed. I am a Marketing Major and Finance minor. Across streams case study method of teaching was preferred. Apart from that we also had a few simulation games like Capstone etc to help you understand a subject like Marketing in depth. Group work is given a lot of importance. I feel the course really prepared me for the corporate life ahead.
Internships Opportunities
100% students got placements for their internship and worked with IT, FMCG, Research and consulting companies. The general stip [end was in the range of 7000- 15000] which was pretty good back in the day.
Placement Experience
Placement was again very good. We had a 100% placement within the 4 placement days. About 7-8 students had pre placement offers from companies.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I paid about 4 Lac for my entire MBA inclusive of the stay. Now things have changed. The fee is around 11 Lacs .
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is very active. The alumni cell organizes regular get togethers and there are city wise chapters. Sometimes professors also join in for these sessions. Alumni also help in grooming the current batch for interviews and in case they can with job openings.
Exam Structure
We had a trimester system and used to have 7-8 electives in each term. Exams were rigorous. Sometimes 2-3 in a day during the exam week. Some professors used to have open book exams some chose to have surprise tests etc.
