My College Scottish,and my emotion

It was and it is one of the most prestigious college of Kolkata since 1830. This is also the oldest Christian College serving the nation in India. A very long and beautiful tradition is maintained here after so many years of establishment of this college.

It's actually now a autonomous college under the jurisdiction of University of Calcutta. Mainly there was 1+1+1 exam system till 2015-16. Now it's all got 2 semester in each year. One can chill easily with mathematics if his/her base is strong enough for the higher study of mathematics.

Placement is not a suitable option for my subject. But the faculty helped a lot in making serious decision about future higher study. That also helped a lot in many ways. Placement options are available if one want to try for offline placement proceduo.

There are Social and Fresher's welcome party which last for 5 days. All departments arrange their own departmental freshers also. Apart from it the college authority arranges annual sports and verious events on different sports to entertain the students round the year. And we participated in many cultural programmes in other colleges as a representative of my college.

It's quite feasible for normal students as the yearly fees goes around 7-8k per year without the cost of lodging and fooding. Arts based subject are taught under 5k and science based one costs around 6-9k depending on the choice of subjects.

Any one can take a loan for study but usually our college fees was not that much that a student have to took loan for his course. Scholarship facility is available for some brilliant students which I'm not so detail about scholarships are unknown to me as I never got one from my college.

Ther are lots of extracurricular activities such as labs in different departments, sports of various types and picnics also. In our college the ratio of male and female students are almost equal. There were no tolerance problem in respect of gender and anyone can feel free to roam around the college or the local area. As this is mainly a Christian College the number of Christian students are a little more than any other colleges in Kolkata.

I opted for a mess near the college and it was very economical for me. Food served ther was good enough only for hungry people. One can also opt for the 5 hostels readily available wihin the vicinity of the college campus. The girl's hostels are very safe and situated in high secured places in Kolkata.

Senior students are very helpful and will be glad to guide any present student if they need us. Myself being an alumni never hesitated to go to my college even after the completion of my course. One can easily interact with their departmental seniors if they want to. Alumnus are always there to serve the present students in all kind of manner.

I've made a 100/100 in mathematics in Higher Secondary exam. I fill in the form in Scottish Church College and easily got selected in the year 2009 in B. Sc(Hons). I heard the faculty in the college was very efficient that time and so I made no mistake when I got a chance to get admission there. It was probably the best e years of my life.

It was one of the best faculty team at our time. As far as I'm concerned my department has maintained the continuous improvement in faculty structure. Mainly eavhbof them had their own paper published before joining the college.
