Second best state engineering college in Jharkhand after BIT Sindri

Few of the faculty members are less expressive and lack in their subjects slightly. While others are very well versed and knowledgeable in their areas. The faculty is up to date of the recent developments and keep track of the required. There is a lack of separate college sports grounds which is negotiable as there are enough grounds in the university campus itself.

Course structure is quite sophisticated. And my college came under TEQIP-3 program managed by IIT KANPUR itself. Exams are taken semester wise, i. e. Twice a year and there isn't any semester lags or year lags from the management side.

There are mainly off campus placements, yet companies do visit our college every year for on campus placements as well. The average package is around 2. 5-3 lpa in the on-campus placements. No, the college doesn't provides internship everytime but aids financially the expenses of the student who does internship from IITs and NITs. NPTEL exam fees is also reimbursed for the students who qualify the exam.

From time to time the college organises various trainings, industrial workshops, cultural fests, sports tournaments and social camps including blood donation camps. There are several clubs which are managed and run by students themselves with their faculty mentors.

Fee structure is quite feasible. The college even has seats for TFW(Tuition Fee Waiver) quota and provides e-Kalyan scholarships of Rs. 35k+ annually to every student that has low income certificate and fulfills other eligibility criteria for the same. The fees per semester for a general student is Rs. 25000 and the examination form to be filled requires an additional amount of Rs. 2550 per semester. This amount is around Rs. 34000 for first sem which includes security money and some other things. The security money is returned to the student once he/she completes his bachelors degree in engineering.

College provides e-Kalyan scholarships for the needy students. Currently, it is of Rs. 38000 annually to each of them. The student is required to submit income certificate along with other documents to gain advantage from this.

There is a 1:1 gender ratio in the CSE department, which gradually decreases as one moves to IT, ECE, and MECHANICAL departments. A number of workshops are organised throughout the year some of which are paid while others free. Ghere isn't any discrimination on any grounds. Students from various cultures have the same exposure to college facilities. Cultural and co-curricular societies are managed by the students themselves.

There isn't any hostel facilities for boys in the campus. However, there are plenty of options available in close areas for both boys and girls since there is a girl hostel but it can't accommodate every girl from all departments in the university. The students can choose from various lodges, flats for rent or can live as paying guests. Lodges for girls are well equipped and parents can themselves assure their security as they have got options to choose from.

There is a slight senior-junior thing at first, which decreases within a few months and the a much stronger bond between the two is established. Alumni meets are organised from time to time. Both, seniors as well as alumni are very supportive towards the juniors and are ready to help them in any situation, if required.

It was through JCECE entrance examination that I got admission in this college. Currently, it takes admission from JEE MAINS. I didn't rank well enough to get BIT SINDRI, so I opted for this college as it is the second best engineering college in state. Seat can be allocated through online counselling of JEE MAINS.

The faculty assigned to our college in the TEQIP-3 program were highly proficient. Besides, some of the permanent college faculty are well versed in their subjects as well. The lecturers are available throughout the working days and students are allowed to clarify their doubts at any hour.
