BVM : An Incredible Journey

College management is excellent. College campus is not too big but beautiful .Teaching is worse. But the college has good reputation in Gujarat. Which compensates negative externalities. Placements could have been better because cut-off marks are very hig

BVM is located in a beautiful town called Vidyanagar, Gujarat. It comes under Gujarat Technological University, known as GTU. Common mode of entry into BVM is GUJ- CET, which is entrance exam conducted by Gujarat State Higher Education Board.

College does not provide internship opportunities. Students themselves have to find if they are interested. Most of the internships are unpaid. I opted for internship in Patwa Electronics. Which was also unpaid.

Placements are moderate. In my batch(Electronics Engineering) there were total of 110 students. At the end of educations term(8th Sem) around 35 students got placed. Companies like TCS, eInfochip, Sybage visited. Highest package offered was 3.16 lpa by TCS.

The college is excellent at celebrating cultural events. Fresher's party with the awards like Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher is arranger for freshers. Everyday annual day is celebrated with great zeal. The college also have a cultural and sports department. Which are very active. Apart from that, Technical Festival is organized every year.

Being a semi-government college. Fees is minimal . 5000 per sem for boys and 1500 for girls. Most of the streams are government sponsored. Expect Electronics and Telecommunication . Electronics and Telecommunication is self financed. Which would cost around 50000 per semester. Fee cost incudes tuition fees, library fees, internet fees, water charge, environment charge and what not. Students are required to pay the fees semester wise. Exam fees is separate. Which needs to be paid to Gujarat Technological University. This fees are around 150 per subject.

Not such facility in my knowledge. As fees is very less there is not any requirement for availing the loan facility.

College life in BVM is very chilled out. You get to meet the different breeds of people. Most of them are from Gujarat itself.

There is no mess available. You have to arrange the food for yourself. One would find a lot of cheap and tasty food stores around college. College hostel is a shitty place still a must have experience to live in. Most of the students rent a flat (Shared

Mr. A.M. Naik is one the Alumnus of BVM. Who is presently chailman of L&T. I am sure there are lot many people who have achieved great success in life after passing through BVM.

Exams are chilled out. Every semester basically has two exams. Preliminary and Boards. Board exam is conducted by GTU , whereas Prelims are conducted by college itself.

Faculties are not that Sauve and Smart in my view. Most of the learning is pedant learning, Emphasis was more on exams rather than on actual learning.
