Manipal - where the world meets

It is really good college. I am really happy after coming to Manipal. I had a option of going to Christ university, bangalore, but i am really happy I didn't take up that offer because there you will be really busy with college the whole time. But here we are not busy with college much.

The curriculum in my college is very nice. In the 1st year they teach you the very basic level of the different types of accounts, instead each type of accounts very deeply like they do in other colleges. We have 2 mid - terms and them term exam each semester. The portions for each exam was not very much. The best part of the exam is that don't write it in paper, we are provided with e-pads with a stylus where we write the exams.

We placement are good. We get companies like oracle, Infosys, Tommy Hilfiger etc. coming for placement. In the 4th semester we have the option of doing an internship or a study abroad program. For that internship college does connect is with industries they have tied up with.

Every year we host a management fest called consendo which is a really big intercolleg fest, at least 15 colleges participate. Then for the cultural events we have a club called Rangasthala. It has dramatics, music and dance. We host a lot open mic, music competition etc. Then we have different houses, were every week a event is hosted, and many students also participate.

The fees structure of my college is same as the fees of Christ university for Bba. It is 1,40,400 per year that is for semester 1 and semester 2. We pay 10,000 for caution deposit. For the second year and third year the fees is 1,39,000

In the second year, if we choose study abroad there is scholarship available for that. We are chosen according to are cpga, then we are shortlisted, we have a interview process with the teachers and the head.

In Manipal as a whole people are very open minded. Each year there is sports day where many students come. We have football, basketball and cricket team. Plus we have sports house events wise. There are many activity clubs, where many events happen.

Yes I have opted for hostel. We are given 3 options for hostels. 1- double sharing non ac. 2- double sharing ac. 3- single ac. The rooms are really good. Most of the hostels have mess which is attached. There is the laundry available for which we have to pay extra. There are cleaners who clean the room every alternate rooms. There is a hospital near by, where we get free treatment. If the situation is worse a ambulance will be called which will take you to the hospital.

The college seniors are very chill. There is no ragging allowed so they are very sweet to us. Even alumni network is very strong. Many alumini comes to visit the college every year and they also come has judges for the management fest.

We had fill a online form first and then pay the exam money which was ?2000. Entrance exams were later conducted in different places. It was conducted for 3 days. We could chose which date was feasible for us. After the entrance within 6 days the score was out. If the rank was low you could take a re-test. Then after 10-15 days they removed the rank list. Those who were selected were given confirmation email. Then we had to pay the fees.

The faculty is our college are qualified. Most of the teachers have worked in the corporate sector and then taken become teachers. So they all relate what they are teaching to the real life experiences they had. All the teachers are very cordial and friendly.
