Remarks
There are only few courses provided here apart from other well known Government as well as aided colleges nearby. Presently, the college provides only 6 UG courses and 5 PG courses. This makes the college a very less populated campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is very good. The faculties are so brilliant in teaching and moulding us in the righteous manner. Also they pay more attention in training us for the UGC NET exams and researches. And thanks to all of them that I have cleared UGC NET twice !
Placement Experience
No, as the course which I have opted come under Arts group and that too a language group, there are no such internships. There are several job oppurtunities awaiting us. After the masters degree, we are able to enter as a college lecturer if we are qualified for it. Or we can work as a content writer for any reputed company. We can also be a translator if fluent in any foreign languages. In short, English degree is a 'safer' section in the field of education.
College Events
Seminars are conducted yearly by each departments. There are union day, arts day, sports day, merit day, etc. The college also celebrates onam, eid, christmas and such festivals and conduct various games and programmes related to it.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is very low as it is a government college. For my MA admissions, it costed only around 5000/-. There are no further fee needed except for the exam fee which I don't have to pay because of e-grantz scholarship.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are many scholarships commonly available to all colleges. Post matric scholarship, state merit scholarship, e-grantz, etc. are available. I have got the post matric scholarship and also I get the fee relaxations based on lower family income.
Campus Life
In case of gender ratios, around 75-80% of the students are girls and only the rest are boys. There are many student political parties in the college too. Elections are held year wise and the college union members are selected on the basis of election results.
Alumni/Alumna
The college has a brilliant group of alumni network. They are so helpful too. When I cracked the UGC NET exam for the first time, there was the merit day celebrations for honouring all the qualified students. And the chief guest was an IAS officer who surprisingly was an old student of our college. Also many of the faculties are members of the alumni association.
Admission
I love learning literature, so the best option I could opt for was English. I got admission letters from various colleges but I chose here for two reasons. One was that the college was well known for its English department. And second is that the nearest college to my home from which I got admission was this college.
Faculty
There are 10 faculties in the English department of our college including the head. Each of them are way too better when compared. Each of them have a thrust area, for example, if one of them is interested in the theories, then other will be well versed in poems, other one in novels and so on. All of them are NET aspirants and phd holders.
