Remarks

Overall ravenshaw is a really good choice for those who are academically well brought up and are also financially weaker than others. It offers various types of courses and tries to accommodate with all types student related courses under one roof.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course is really self sufficient in itself and exams were held at frequent intervals so that students were able to keep in touch with the knowledge. The exams were usually held during early mornings so we had a full day to ourselves and thus it was chilled.

Placement Experience

3.5

Ravenshaw does not offer placement opportunities, atleast not in commerce background. Thus there was no question of stipend coming from such companies. Though I am not sure about the placements people got from science backgrounds.

College Events

4

Ganesh pooja, saraswati pooja, cultural fest, picnics. Usually they are department wise and each department holds them for that particular section. They are om small scale and participation usually was average in all these events

Fee Structure And Facilities

As it is a government college hence the fee structure is really feasible and infact really cheap. In 5 years of my college I estimate that my fees would have been around 15000 which was divided annually.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are offered based on merits but I have no idea about loan facilities. Though being a government college it is really affordable and there is no requirement for loan facility. None of my friends have applied for any loans.

Campus Life

4.5

Gender ratio was almost 50:50, student parties were conducted on big events like ganesh pooja and farewells, workshopes were conducted at regular intervals based on current affairs. There was no gender discrimination in college, neither they were segregated in terms of race, religion etc.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors were really helpful in getting us acquainted with the culture of college and were totally engrossed in making the lives of juniors a rose path. They helped in making industrial visits and planning projects that could help everyone.

Admission

I took admission in this college because it is the best college in cuttack. Being a government college it is really feasible and the admission is based on marks you secured in 10th. There is a whole selection process and the lists are generated according to the marks secured and seats are filled.

Faculty

4

There was a mixture of faculties but most of them were good with knowledge and were able to impart it with ease but as every other college some faculties were not upto the mark. They were late sometimes and were just bothered about finishing the course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum of B.Com under Sambalpur University covers important subjects like Accounting, Business Law, Economics, Management and Taxation which are essential for future studies and careers in finance or commerce. The structure is simple to follow and helps students build a good base in theory. Semester exams are conducted on time and the difficulty level is moderate. A student who consistently studies can score well without extreme pressure. However, there is a lack of practical exposure such as industry visits, internships or real-world business case studies. Also, subjects related to modern digital business trends like data analytics, advanced Excel, and GST practicals should be included to make students more job-ready. Overall, the curriculum is relevant but needs more updates to match the current professional requirements

Placement Experience:

In our college, final-year students are eligile for campus placements. While i don't recall the specific companies that visited, one of my friends interviewed with Axis Bank and got selected with a package of around 2.4 lakh. The exact percentage of students are placed and details of average or highest packages are unclear to me, but the placements process provides opportunities of those actively seeking jobs. After completing my degree, I plan to pursue an independent career rather that seeking a traditioinal job placement.
