Remarks

Positive- love that classes are scheduled from 9-2 which helps in planning the day and doing other activities post 2. Having an app that gives us information about scores, attendance and notices is really convenient. Negative- still a little orthodox and feedback forms are never taken seriously.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course structure is great but there could be more in terms of choices offered. Also another year would be of great help as we can explore more in terms of what we like. Exams on the other hand follow the school like pattern, I believe in university we should not do the same school type exams rather have projects, research papers and essay submissions.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placement cell is a student run club, hence quiet a few issues in terms of whether good internships are being circulated or internally being taken up by kids in the cell. College admin should get more involved and try to bring more companies. Students barely take up the internships circulated due to them nit being good enough. Even I interned by applying online and not through college. Placements are decent but I personally am more keen to apply off campus for better profiles.

College Events

3.5

All clubs and societies have events. College also holds its annual day, fest and founders day. I am a part of the rotaract club and debating society hence I'm usually a part of the competitions and events held by both societies. I also attend the fest which usually has 1000+ people attending.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As compared to other du colleges it's expensive. While we do have certain amenities that justify the price, there is still lack of clean bathrooms and air conditioners in our classes. Given our fee is almost double of normal honours courses, having these things seems justified.

Fees and Financial Aid

People who top the class get a scholarship every year. I came 3rd in class and I got 3000. Other than that it offers various scholarships to students who perform exceedingly well in their personal life. Also helps those who cannot afford to pay the fees.

Campus Life

4.5

Gender ratio is not that good. I started the basketball team for girls in my college before that only boys used to play. We dont have proper changing rooms which is problematic given how much space is there in college. College does not encourage sports as much as other du colleges do hence it was a struggle initially to even get a coach. But now there have been improvements. Religion is an important thing on campus and hence restrictions on clothes like no knee above length clothes are allowed on campus.

Alumni/Alumna

Some alumni visit from time to time which us helpful but haven't interacted much with seniors. Any interaction with them helps in u understanding how to go about choosing subjects and they solve queries regarding placements.

Admission

One get admission through merit or admission test depending on the course one chooses. I wrote the DU joint admission test and secured a rank of 591. My course business economics is a great culmination of bcom honours and economics honours. I choose this course as I dint want to purely study commerce or economics. It is also well recognized abroad.

Faculty

3

Faculty is average, as a lot of them don't really go beyond the textbook teaching style. Some teachers are very young hence not very experienced in teaching. Also du follows a system of ad hoc which is not great as guest teachers have very limited lectures and we are not getting enough classes to complete our syllabus.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
