Institute provides lot of sports opportunities to discover your potential. It is a lush green campus besides guindy national park where you can easily spot many deers, monkeys, black buck and many more animals.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum offers a lot to learn. The grades are based on quiz 1,2 and endsem which contribute to 20, 20 50 percent weightage while remaining 10 percent are for tutorial and assignment. The exams are frequent but the labs are chilled.
Placement Experience
Placement in iits offer a lot to students with highest salary in crores to good mean salary. Many companies come to recruit brightest brains of country. Institute also offers internship which is compulsory in final year and stipend depends on where you are for internship. The average stipend is 20000 rs per month.
College Events
Cultural festival - saarang, it is celebrated in January and it is the largest only students organised fest in India. Technical festival- shaastra, it is also celebrated in January and is more technology oriented and hosts many schools from South India.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees are highly subsidised for students. For students from general category total fees is 114000 (tuition fees) + 35000 (hostel fees) per semester while for students from other category fees are 60000 + 14000 and it also varies based on your parents income.
Fees and Financial Aid
As of now I don't know the name of such scholarship but the Institute provides interest free loan any many scholarship to to help you economically. There are many scholarship that pay you more than 5000 per month.
Campus Life
Gender ratio in Institute is poor as very less girls opt for engineering from iit. Workshops are great fun. Institute is mini India as students from all over country come here to study and there is great diversity. Sports is promoted in Institute.
Alumni/Alumna
There is international alumni Association that has been contributing to the Institute through funds and many other facilities. Senior students are helpful and offer great help. Their experience helps juniors.
Admission
To get admission in IIT you need to clear Jee mains which is 360 marks mcq test containing physics, chemistry and mathematics. If you are above cutoff the you are eligible for Jee advanced which contains the same syllabus but the pattern of paper isn't the same and it varies. If you secure a good rank then you can get into good IIT.
Faculty
The faculty in Institute is highly qualified with their phd from various prestigious foreign universities. They are very helpful and many teach in nice manner. But they do not seem to show interest in teaching as they are mostly involved in research work.
