Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies engineering physics, engineering mathematics, and materials science principles to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. It is one of the oldest and broadest of the engineering disciplines. In NIT surat exam pattern is not so tough but to give answer depends on his practice.

The placement and job opportunities start from 3rd year itself for undergraduate students. From 3 year college provides internship. For Mechanical minimum 80% students get j Campus job. Main NIT SURAT is known for Mechanical.

In our College there are so many events that are uncountable. For first year freasher's there is a "Kashis" program. In that this is contained of two days, one Singing Night and another is Dancing Night. The Annual event of the college is SPARSH.

B. Tech is offered in specializations like Civil, Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Computer Science etc. for a course fee of INR 1,25,000 per annum. The fee structure of hostel and mess facility at Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology varies between INR 33,867 to INR 49,460 per annum. The fee structure of M. Tech in Computer Science, Chemical, Mechanical, Electronics, etc. is INR 70,000 per annum. Remission of 2/3rd of the Tuition Fee for General & OBC students whose family income is between Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh per annum. Full Tution fees remission for those whose family income is less then 1 lakh.

It is a scholarship for btech students 1st year. Candidate's family income must be below 2 Lacs per annum. Students are awarded with Siemens Scholarship throughout four years of BTech. Despite offering approval to postgraduate and undergraduate programs under specified categories, AICTE also offers a number of scholarships for students to ensure that financial constraint does not become a blocking stone in their professional carter.

There are so many extracurricular activities. In every January there is an event, named MMNCT, which is 5 days cricket tournament. There is a club, named YOUTH FOR planet, they are doing social activities. A another club, name JOYFEST, they are providing Tution to the poor students at free of cost.

Total there were 7 hostels(1 for girls and 6 for boys). First we used to have sharing rooms and remaining years we got single rooms. Infrastructure wise some of them were extremely poor while some were elite. Our final year hostel was one of the best of all. We were provided quite good food unlike other NIT's. Laundry facility,drinking water(not so healthy), and room service were provided.

The main thing is here ragging percentage is zero. Moreover the seniors are so helpful. I have a senior, he is teaching me like a brother. Alumni also donate their valuable time to offer careers support to current students through innovative schemes such as our accredited Professional Mentoring Programme, work shadowing and professional networking opportunities.

As I got NIT, So, to get nit everyone should be given JEE MAINS and everyone has to qualify it. To qualify for NIT-Surat admissions into B. Tech, a candidate must score a minimum 75% in class 12th examination or be in the top 20 percentile in class 12th examination conducted by the state board. Admission is done through counseling conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) based on JEE Main Ranking.

Very good discussion is going on, but all this will come true only when the teacher is having love and affection towards his profession. I am saying this because, now a days many people are joining this profession, only because of the salary and also by thinking that this is a easy going profession. Now a days all institutions are facing the lack of good teachers.
