Remarks

Overall I love my college. I am glad that I came here. Here I have the opportunity to pursue whatever interests me. And simply the best place for me, who is a startup enthusiast. The attendance policy , video lectures and fests are a few unique things makes our college different from others.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure is really nice and is updated compared to other colleges of india. We have the benefits of practice schools and thesis too. They are a part of curriculum. We have 4 sets of exams in our college in one sem. We do have frequent labs but due to the 0% attendance policy, we stay chilled and enjoy all other things apart from academics.

Placement Experience

5

I am a first year student and did not experience any internships as of now, however I have been hearing that the job opportunities are really nice and one of the best as BITS is one of the most prestigious institute of India. Yes, college provides practice schools/internships but I still don't know much about the details as I study in first year.

College Events

5

We have 3 major fests. Atmos, arena and pearl which are the technical, sports and cultural festivals respectively. I have experience d atmos and arena , which were quite nice. Arena had a great footfall. As every senior says, the best fest is pearl, then arena and then atmos in decreasing order. A lot of colleges and other students attend the fest. However i am yet to experience Pearl in the upcoming march.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's expensive in general, but compared to the facilities they provide, it is totally justified. Also there are two kinds of scholarship. One is for people who are performing well in academics (merit) and the other is for who are in need and performing well too (merit cum need).

Fees and Financial Aid

Two types of scholarship are there. One is merit - where people avail scholarships on the basis academic performance. The other is merit cum need scholarship. where students of poor backgrounds are helped on the basis of their need and academic performance.

Campus Life

5

BITS could possibly be the best place of extracurriculars due to the 0% attendance policy rule. We get a lot of time to do anything of our interest and the labs, sports, grounds etc are quite nice. Gender ratio is 1:9, workshops are frequently conducted. There are clubs and departments to handle and teach students many things. They also handle fests. The campus is fully secular. No forms of discrimination persists.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

For first year students, one room is shared between two people. The facilities and infrastructure is simply awesome and maintained. Compared to other colleges of india, our college is way better. rooms have 2 beds , 2 white boards , 2 cupboards , 2 chairs, 2 lights and 1fan.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are overall helpful, they might irritate and pest you initially under the name of interaction, however they are really helpful. I have not interacted with the alumni yet. However, I have heard that our college has a strong alumni network.

Admission

I gave BITSAT (an entrance exam) and qualified the exam with decent scores to get into this college. First, You fill the form for giving the exam, then give the exam, then fill the desired course in preference order and finally we get an offer letter if we get the course. I chose this course because I like physics and I am interested in it. While I study physics , I can also get the perks of the B. E degree. The B. E degree is inclined towards practical knowledge of theories and helps in placements.

Faculty

2

The faculties are highly qualified and have a lot of knowledge. However, many of them do not teach/deliver nicely and if the knowledge can't be delivered nicely, the knowledge one posses for teaching purpose becomes useless.
