GMERS Gandhinagar at a glance

GMERS Medical College, Gandhinagar is a new college inaugurated in 2012. Since than the college has been growing at very high speed in all aspects. The results in university exams has been outstanding since starting. And since last 2 years the college has stood itself high up to represent itself at National level.

Mbbs is 4 and a half year course and 1 year internship at the end. Research is not mandatory but can be done with the help of ICMR. We have a comparative hectic schedule in 1st prof but after that as there are few lecture, the environment is kinda chilled one.

We have internship of 1 year compulsory at the end of the studies Payscale is 13500/- p. m. After that we can go for junior residency in the hospital itself. And also there are pg seats available. Senior residency is increasing slowly.

We have sports week in march which includes all outdour and indour sports activities. We also have a cultural event in April. Also now we have a National Medical Conference every year. We also have navratri celebration in September. Nd many fillers in between them.

We have 3 lakhs per annum fees. NRI quota has higher fees ranging from 15 to 18 lakhs per annum according to the country. And hostel fees are 500 rupees per month. These fees needs to be paid through DENA BANK.

Government of Gujarat provides MYSY (Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavlamban Yojana) scholarship which is 50% of total fees. With MYSY, we cannot opt for any other scholarships. For girl candidate, the kanya kelavani fund is there which gives another 50% scholarship.

We have all the necessary labs equipped with latest instruments. Also we have sports club here which looks after sports instrument every year. The Riviera cultural forum is the committee governed solely by students for organizing all the cultural events that are taking place in the college.

Hostel is good except washroom. We have 2 people per room and rooms are quiet good and spacious. But now as we have 200 intake, 3 people need to share 1 room. But yeah the hostel washrooms needs a lot of improvement.

This is ragging free campus. Senior junior interaction is quite good here. No junior needs to feel unsafe from seniors. Also all the seniors are very helpful to all the newcomers in all aspects. The professors are helpful too.

There is a common entrance exam called NEET ug for entrance to mbbs through out india. There is the admission committee for professional undergraduate medical courses which conduct this process in june every year.

We have a very good faculties for anatomy and pharmacology department but there is shortage of faculties for psychiatry and radiology department. Also the gynaecology and anaesthesia department are very Good.
