Sir Syed Ahmed Khan's dream of knowledge

The overall management and working of the university are remarkable considering the huge size and capacity of the university. The constant effort of each and every individual is what makes it so great. The dream that Sir Syed Ahmed Khan has visioned for the upcoming generations can be clearly seen as fulfilling.

Every year a new curriculum is prepared to keep in mind to insert all the new features and content to make it more beneficial for the students. The curriculum is also designed in such a manner that it shall benefit the student in the real-time scenario. For example, as students of B.Com(H), we are taught to file in income tax returns in a complete practical format.

The placement for my course is not very up to the mark since it is not a professional course. However there are some companies that pay a visit for campus hiring offering packages with an average of 4 lakhs. For example GENPACT.

We have many fests all year round which includes college fests, cultural fests, literary, drama, music, management, engineering, art, etc. Also, each residential hall inside our campus has its very own fest week in which dozens of competitions are scheduled for the students to make the most of it. Also, students are also given an opportunity for internships under these festivals to learn skills that may be useful later on in life.

The university is a central government university which explains the feasible fee structure for all the courses along with a low budget hostel accommodation along with dining facility. There are no hidden fees in the fee structure although the fees vary from course to course and year to year. No additional fee is accepted for admission purposes.

The university has multiple scholarship schemes coming all year round. The students may apply to any of them fulfilling the criterion and to as many, as they like the scholarship amount varies for every scheme, starting from Rs. 100 to Rs. 10,000.

The student's gender ratio is a 2:1 for boys to girls respectively. The students are allowed to organize social and cultural gatherings within themselves. There is a varied diversity among the students in regards to faith and culture and the students feel blessed to live in such a surrounding taking it as an opportunity to learn from each other.

The hostel accommodation is quite comfortable with all the basic facilities. We are also provided with the dining facility which is completely optional at the rate of only 1150 per month. You can either opt for a two-seater, three-seaters or four-seater room. The hostel fees remain the same for all-seater rooms.

The alumni network of our university is generally known as old boys association which is a very great body that comes to each and every aid of the student whenever needed. Also they provide with huge donations which is used for the welfare of the students. Many alumni have also started scholarships in their names to help needy students financially.

This university has been my dream ever since I was a small child. Known for it's a vast and rich culture in the field of academics and non-academics, it is one of its kind in the entire country. However, getting admission is quite a challenge in itself. We had to fill online forms, after which we received our admit cards, followed by an entrance examination that is held by the university itself.

We have an average of 24 lectures per semester which is conducted by various faculties combined. For some subjects, two or more professors are involved whereas for some it is completely under a single professor. Our professors are well experienced with the majority having an experience of at least 10-15 years.
