Remarks
Overall, I would say that nothing is perfect. But that is only the case when you expect something to happen for free. If you are paying such a hefty amount then yes you are bound to expect everything perfect to happen. College management was good and placements happened and assistance was provided but also at the same time the faculties and the department should take care to make the students more industry-ready.
Course Curriculum Overview
Actually, the syllabus is quite lengthy and it contains all the relevant details as well, but sometimes what I feel is that it lacks modernisation. The curriculum is designed in such a way that students can get a lot from it but mostly what happens is that the components or the technologies that we read and perform no longer exist in industrial processes.
Placement Experience
I got placed this year itself and I can agree to this that a lot of care is taken yo ensure that most of the students get placed. Placements started on the month of September and from then onwards they continued to happen till February until this coronavirus outbreak happened. Otherwise placements irrespective of the packages are quite well ranging from companies like amazon, hp, adobe etc to many IT Giants like Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro, Accenture etc.
College Events
The college finds itself as the most active college in the region all because of the college clubs like the social club by the name Rotaract club headed by the rotary club India ltd. Not only this but a variety of clubs inside the campus including dramatics, literary, cultural, technical, gaming, robotics, coding etc are there to improve the co-curricular learning of the students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I think as the college is governed by the government university that is the AKTU, so the fees as compared to the colleges nearby are somewhat low or marginally low. But the hostel charges are quite high so the annual charges per person including tuition fee, food and lodging are somewhat around 280000-3 lacs. Tuition fee is okay as compared but living is expensive.
Fees and Financial Aid
No such scholarship opportunities were provided to the students on the basis of their academic performances or athletic performances. I myself topped my department for consecutive 2 years but I never got a scholarship from the college. Only the scholarship provided is by the Uttar Pradesh govt and that too on the basis of an annual salary of parents which all of us studying there don't fulfil.
Campus Life
The gender ratio os quite well in my college. Talking of my section we had 50 total students where 15 were girls and rest were boys. But this entirely depends on the branch you have ranging from mechanical civil where you see only the boys to the cs and it and ECE where you see gender diversity at its best.
Hostel Facilities
The rates are very high but accordingly the facilities are not at all par with what they are charging from us. Starting from the food, it's quite unhealthy according to me as I myself suffered from food poisoning in the second semester itself after which I decided to rent a room instead of living in a hostel. Also, the basic services like laundry etc were very very horrible. The toilets etc were not cleaned daily and the place was horrible. Only the best part was that all the guys were united and we played a lot there as the sports facilities were good.
Alumni/Alumna
That depends on the students personally about the relations they are able to establish with their seniors because you will only get guidance if you talk and have relations with someone. Personally, as I was quite an active member in the club, I had established good terms with my seniors and the most recent help or referral that I got was an interview of HSBC bank via my senior referral which unfortunately I wasn't able to convert but getting chance for it just on the basis of your contacts is somewhat alumni relations can do for you in today's world.
Admission
I applied for this course as I was very keen about the field of robotics and automation and that's why I thought going for this course would definitely help me. Also, the placement records were quite good at the college, so I got admission here. The steps involved for me getting this admission were firstly filling up the forms which included all your past academic performances.
Faculty
We had 5 lectures and 3 practicals daily from Monday to Wednesday and 5 lectures and 3 personality development lectures for the rest two days. We had off on Sat and Sun. The faculty varied in age including a young asset professor of merely 25-26 yrs to an experienced proof of around 50-55 years. Some of them were really masters of there subjects wherein they were always ready to tackle our questions.
