Remarks
We have few of the best faculties at our college with so much of experience and skills. Our auditorium is really big and the best in the entire Gujarat. it has a capacity for 1200 people with amazing sound system and lights. The campus isn't that big and there ain't many grounds for sports but the infrastructure for our lecture rooms is really good. Overall it's a good college but it can be improved a little by incorporating few more sports related activity and grounds.
Course Curriculum Overview
We have 4.5 years with 4 annual exams that occur after each year. Our first , third and final year are of one year each and second year is of 1.5 year long. We had 4 annual exams and many more internal and preliminary exams to pass the entire course. The study is really very hectic and our syllabus is a lot. There isn't much research work going on but whoever students are interested , does research work with ICMR and the teachers and staff members are really very helpful for the same. Research work is done according to everyone's interest and enthusiasm.
Placement Experience
Yes. We have internships for a year after completing the course. We get 13,000 as stipend. But once we are done with Mbbs , we can work as a medical officer at any hospital with basic income of 50,000rs per month.
College Events
1) Nexus Medical Conference -500 to 1000 medical students and doctors from all over Gujarat come for the conference. This is the 2nd year when we are planning this conference which will be held in may 2020. 2) Cultural night which spans over 3 days during March mid week in which 500-700 students from our own college come and enjoy the night. 3) Sports week in which there will be competition for all the medical colleges from Gujarat will come to compete which will be held in last week of this February. 4) Navratri night - Navratri night is done during Navratri times and around 1000 medical students come and enjoy with feast during that night.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible for a middle class family but it's really expensive for any lower socioeconomic person who wants to study Mbbs. At the same time government has launched MYSY scheme and Kanya padhai schemes which help the students financially.
Fees and Financial Aid
MYSY SCHEME- 50% salary i.e. 150000 RS are given to the economically backward people who are not able to pay the fees in order to help them study. KANYA padhao is given to all the girls who are eligible for MYSY and they also provide 150000 RS to the economically backward girls.
Campus Life
We have almost 2 male to 1 girl gender ratio. We do have cultural societies and student diversities. These societies help organize different college events and all the students from all over the country take part in this. We also have a prayas group which donates clothes and different materials to the poor streetside people as well as disabled children. We organized blood donation camps to help people in need.
Hostel Facilities
No. I stay at my home only. As I stay very near to my college I choose not to stay at my hostel and so I don't have much idea about the hostel rooms. All I know is they are decent enough for a person to live at hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, they are really very helpful. They will guide us through every step of our life be it our career or personal life. They teach us how to deal with study pressure as well as how to enjoy life at the same time.
Admission
We were allocated medical colleges on the basis of our marks and merit list. So we just had to choose which medical college I would prefer. Once all the medical colleges are full, the dental and physiotherapy seats are filled by other students who didn't score that well. Also one of the reasons of me choosing my college was because of its proximity to my house.
Faculty
Every faculty in our college is a mbbs and with a specialization in their own field with a teaching degree. They all are really very helpful and caring. They are supportive and friendly. They are helpful not only in studies but also if we need any life advices or any such personal problems.
