Remarks
One major negative remark would about the money collected for numerous reasons. The money collected saying that it is for a course or certification, which is not conducted sometimes. And also the facilities would persistently demand the money even if the student is not willing to take up the course.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum offered is based on Anna University syllabus to which Saveetha Engineering College is affliated to. Exam is conducted in semester pattern, twice in a year. The practicals and other lab activities are after hectic and at the same time it is conducted with staffs who have reasonable knowledge.
Placement Experience
A large number of companies come for hiring in our College. The only problem is that most of those are IT companies which may be good for CS/IT department students. But those from other department who have the ambition to work in their core, will have a tough time.
College Events
Drestein is one of the major events in our College which is conducted every year. It has both technical and non technical events for the students of all the Colleges. Certificates will awarded for all those who participate in the events. And another mega celebration is the Pongal fest which is celebrated every January prior to the Pongal holidays. All students and also parents are invited for this annual celebration
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees structure is slightly expensive considering the facilities available in College. Tuition fees - Rs.75000/year College transport fees - Rs.40000/year Hostel fees - Rs. 60000( subject to the type of room chosen) Caution deposit - Rs.5000 ( for day scholars) and Rs.9000 (for hostel students)
Fees and Financial Aid
I have not availed any of the scholarships as I joined through the management quota. But many of friends used to get those scholarships, only after making great efforts. As the management does not provide clear information at times
Campus Life
Students are allowed to participate in sporting events if they have the interest. And special mention has to be made about the freedom given to both boys and girls in being friends with each other. There is strictly no ragging inside the campus, to which I had great fear when I joined the College.
Alumni/Alumna
I don't have great contact with my seniors, but those one or two senior friends were great mentors in guiding me to the right path. I got my first senior friend in the College bus as we both would board the bus from the same bus stop. She helped me many times by clearing doubts and also assisted me in the project work.
Admission
I choose Saveetha Engineering College after being referred by one of my relatives. The admission process was rather simple, they asked to submit all the original certificates for verification. And we paid the fees including College transport which I opted for. I was asked to pay a caution deposit amount of Rs.5000 which the College returned to me after I finished my course. Then most importantly I chose ECE department as I had great interest in Electronics.
Faculty
Faculties have a considerable amount of knowledge in their designated subjects. And some teachers have the full knowledge and experience to teach. And my class faculty was a humble person, she used to teach subjects in a lively manner.
