NIT Sikkim is located in scenric city of Ravangla.

Pros: Picturesque landscape, good placements. Cons: Limited Infrastructure.

Just any other engineering college, academic studies aren't of that importance (it's more pronounced if you are aspiring to be in IT industry). That being said, teachers are well qualified and administration also works regularly to amend the curriculum according to industry requirements. Also, as of now batch sizes aren't that big, teachers focus on students individually and it also benefits in placements.

TnP works quiet hard to get it's students placed. POWERGRID, Intel, LnT, Checktronics, Volkswagen are few among the prominent recruiters. Also, every year new start ups also keep visiting the college to pick some talented students. TnP cell also assists students in securing internships in reputed ohter reputed IITs, NIC, CDAC. Also, every year many students get a chance to pursue their internship in foreign countries like US, Canada, Germany.

ABHIYANTRAN: Annual Tech festival of NIT Sikkim, it is a 3-4 days program organised in October - November. Even students from other colleges are invited and participate in the events. UDGAM: It is Annual cultural festival, organised somewhere in February - March. Many celebrities are invited during this event making it the most enjoyable days. There are several other literary, cultural, coding clubs in college which keep on organising events on regular basis.

Being an NIT, Fees structure is conrtolled by MHRD. Currently, fees is near about 1.5 lakh annually which too has subsidies on the basis of student's family's annual salary. Hostel and mess charges are also not too high. So, keeping all this in mind, fees structure is quite feasible.

There no such scholarships provided specifically by the college. Most of the students avail those either from their state or central Governments.

Being located in lap of Himalayas, view is such a pleasure to mind. Sometimes it snowfalls during winter. Also during this season trekking is quiet common. Gender ratio is somewhat better than other NITs and people are comparatively more open minded here. Several college clubs keep on organising various events regularly.

As NIT Sikkim is currently operating in temporary campus, so Hostel facility might not appear to be in par with other established NITs. Because this college is having limited infrastructure and provides only sharing rooms. Generally students live in triple sharing.

Many of college pass-outs are working in reputed companies. They could easily be connected via LinkedIn.

Just as any other NIT, you would need to give exam of JEE MAINS. Currently this exam is organised twice a year.. One somewhere in Dec- Jan, second one in April-March. Once, exam is done, after a month or so ranks and marks are published post which NITs and IITs conduct their joint counselling program to recruit talented students With an AIR of 20- 25k, one can easily convert this college. Also, this college provides best placements in CS and EEE. And every year NIT Sikkim is getting better and better in this game.

Most teachers are researchers from other top colleges of the country. Current director is PhD scholor from NIT Jaipur, Academic dean is research scholar from ISM Dhanbad. Also, college is home for researchers from diversed field,from CS to Biotech to Literature to physics.
