My college review

Our college is really a great place to build oneself. It provides wide range of things to every student. But one negative thing the internship and job opportunities should also be provided for arts students as well along with the engineering faculty.

The present course curriculum gives us a general overview of indian and european history. Also we have papers on compartaive colonialism as well as gender studies paper. And we have 2 semester each year. Each paper is of 50 marks. Out of which 20 is for internals and 30 is for our end semester.

The placements and job opportunities are not so good for us (arts faculty). We neither are provided with any internship opportunity. Only these facilities are given to engineering faculty students. They have placement cell and they are provided with internships and jobs and indeed they are paid good amount for it.

We have our annuan cultural fest sanskriti. It is organized by the union of the three faculties. Also we have a number of dance events like indak. We have another fest called ibtida. Also there is the jumun and women's conference. These are basically all student organized events and their participation is open to all.

The fees structure is relaky feasible. We had to pay 1235 during our admission which included the course fees and admission fees. And the next two years we paid 950 only which is the course fees. This is the arts faculty fees structure.

I have no knowledge about any scholarship that jadavpur university provides. Neither have i availed for any scholarship in college. Also i have no idea about the loans availability. I have no idea regarding all these.

There are various types of extracurriculum activities. There is the debate club, dance club, music club, photography club, drama club , painting club, etc. Also there are several types of sports like american football,basketball, cricket ,etc.

I had no interactions with any of the alumni. The seniors are indeed helpful. When we came first the seniors helped us know the entire college. Also they helped us by guiding how each professor want to write us in answer and various other thing.

According to our boards marks a merit list was published of all those who applied. The list was seperated caste wise as well as board wise like state board or icsce or cbsc. And according to our merit list rank we got admission. There were two councelling. I got admission in the first councelling only.

The faculty of our college is really good. They have vast knowledge. They help us get a concept clear. Our prespective indeed changes the way we had studied history in school nd in college is way too different.
