Review- [TAPMI], Manipal

TAPMI is an extremely strict college. You cant stay outside without permission. You have to come back every night by 1130. You can't miss more than 10% of classes. These points can be positive for someone and negative for someone else. But if someone is joining TAPMI, he or she should be mentally prepared to dedicate 2 years to studies.

It's a fresh course. We are part of the first batch. It's a unique mix of data science and business subjects. It feels like a well-curated course with maximum output. The exams are conducted in a fair manner and students are given a chance to review the exams. The entire system is really transparent and helps in the overall growth of a candidate. There will be a lot of group assignments, projects, case studies which makes students learn about group dynamics and learn new things from peers.

In our course, we will be offered a job in Mu Sigma after course completion as the course is specially curated for that company, by the company. The joining role will be trainee apprentice leaders which are equivalent to a manager.

TAPMI hosts a lot of business events throughout the year. Brands can and Atharva are famous. They organize an alumni interaction event called Disha. There is also a sports event in January called speed.

The course fee is 6 lacs inclusive of tax. It includes accomodation for 11 months as well. Considering that you'll be getting an assured job at mu sigma which is the number 1 Analytics company in the world, the fee is reasonable.

Students who perform well in cat get scholarships. Students who perform well in 1 st year also get scholarships for the second year fee. The policies keep on changing with time, so it is better to check their website for this part.

As already mentioned, they conduct a lot of events. Business events are famous all over India. They celebrate all major festivals. There is a cultural committee that takes care of it. They have a sports ground which has a net for cricket, badminton court, football ground, basketball court, and volleyball court.

The hostel is mandatory. The quality of the rooms is good. All rooms are AC. There is an option to choose from single or double occupancy. It has all the facilities such as attached bathrooms and 24*7 cold and hot water supply.

TAPMI has a well-established and famous alumni network. They have a dedicated portal and it is mandatory for everyone to register on the portal. We get all kinds of job opportunities, reunion events, etc on the portal.

Admission in my course was different from an MBA where aspirants write CAT/XAT and appear for interviews. My course is a newly introduced course and we were selected based on the Case study, Group Discussion, Interview, Essay Writing, and Written aptitude test.

TAPMI faculty is known for its class. It's like a school where teachers really take their subject seriously. They care about the learning of the students. There is no bias in marking. All the faculty is Ph.D. and have a lot of research papers under their name.
