Review of B.Tech graduation course

When I joined the college in 2008 it was having a good reputation and the people were paying somewhere between 4-5 lakhs to get a seat under the management quota. After few years the reputation was impacted due to continuous student strikes and bad placements.

The course curriculum was mostly theoretical and focus on building knowledge of the topic. The practical labs for each subject were good for getting the practical knowledge. The exam of each subject was theoretical containing 100 marks.

The placements of the college were average. The on-campus placements were mostly limited to a couple of MNC companies like TCS and Infosys. Once they have selected the students there were not many other options to get campus placement. The remaining students have to try off-campus interviews.

There were annual day celebrations in college celebrating the cultural fests and dance shows. We also had farewell parties and celebrations for final year students given by third-year students. The participation was voluntarily done by all the college students.

The fee structure was feasible. The annual fee including all expenses was 80450. This includes tuition fees, admission fees, examination fees, library fees, and annual events fees. College also provided optional hostel facilities to students on additional charges.

Gender ratio: 3:1, workshops practical for first-year students of all branches. Practical labs were average and the lab assistants were not experienced. The students were mostly from the Uttar Pradesh region.

I didn't opt for a hostel. I was a day scholar. I used to commute from Vaishali. The college hostel for girls was located inside the college campus but for boys, it was outside the campus at a distance of about 2 km away from the college. College provided bus facilities to hostel students.

The college seniors were into class bunking and we're not helpful for studies. They used to bully the students who oppose their bunking theory. There was a custom of light-hearted ragging in the initial weeks of the college.

I attended the UPSEE entrance exam for UPTU. Based on my merit I got admission to IEC College which falls under UPTU in the year 2008. The exam was a competition exam having multiple choice questions and based on the score and opted college and course.

The faculty consists of both experienced and fresh engineering graduates and postgraduates. They were having good knowledge of the subject they are teaching but they all lack experience in their engineering field.
