The college emits an aura of learning and freedom. You are free to whatever you want if it means you improve your skills, enlarge your perspective or are trying to step outside of your comfort zone.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Course Curriculum includes minimum and only essential subjects. All assignments are based on a relevant topic or skills needed to further our practical knowledge. For example one of the subject taught is E-commerce which is very necessary to know if you plan to start a business.
Placement Experience
All of us were placed in a placement week and more than 20 companies visited for GCEC for recruiting interns.
College Events
Many events are organized by students, to name a few 'World Entrepreneurship day', Coding Events, Hackathons and Mock stock. Some events organized by GCEC include 'Commerce Clave','FIN CON', Pitching contests for startups, networking meets and conclaves.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The college provides transparency in the fee-breakdown giving a table to show a clear breakdown in fees. Making an investment of your time and money is clearly worth it in GCEC. The fees are feasible considering it's one of the best commerce colleges in India.
Fees and Financial Aid
I didn't opt for any type of scholarship or education loan, the process is just mailing the management justifying why you need a scholarship. If the request is reasonable your scholarship is approved.
Campus Life
The campus life is enjoyable although one can also choose to enjoy the cities after the internship is completed. The gender ratio is pretty decent, around 1:3. There is a sports ground for every common sport. The students are from pretty diverse backgrounds which helps to maintain a fun and lively atmosphere.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms are excellent and hygienic. The food provided by the mess is good too. The AC single rooms are a bit expensive though so I suggest going for non AC single rooms. The hostels are university owned and they have built a new hostel which is a lot better than the old hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network includes people from 'My Career Architects' and they are very helpful in referring us to suitable internships.
Admission
Wanted a college which gave importance to practical training and didn't prioritize mugging up books but provided knowledge useful in business. Had to fill a form first then got selected for the written test, after the test had a personal interview with Paresh sir. A combination of all these factors determines if you pass the entrance test and get in.
Faculty
Mentors teach solely for passion and have a thorough understanding of their respective subjects, they have past corporate experience and are running their own businesses successfully. There are certain guest lectures from time to time by known business personalities.
