I took GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) exam and secured All India Rank as 177. This score is usually valid for 2 years and with this score one can apply to any of IITs and other similar higher educational institutes for Masters program. I opted IIT Delhi because of high reputations among other similar institutions and also the ranking was #1 in whole India, so, this was the main reason to opt for this.

I did M.Tech in Solid State Materials (Nano and Microelectronics). This course is designed to provide in depth study of Microelectronics, Chips design and fabrication of semi conductor devices. Along with this one gets key knowledge on Nano particles, Nano devices and their synthesis techniques, which is a niche technologies. The overall curriculum was amazing and very interesting.

There is a student exchange program with Universities in Switzerland, European, US, Canadian, African and UK Universities, where the international students explore opportunities in these disciplines and few departments must be providing internships to Indian students as based on the project funding the stipend might be there.

The job opportunities are huge and there will be campus placement and top companies like Google, Facebook, Citibank, J P Morgan, UBS and other top tier banks and provides average packages of about 15 Lacs and other than that many leading Software giants also participates in placements like Infosys, Wipro, IBM, TCS etc. Major electronics companies do visit like ST Microelectronics, Chartred Semiconductors, Singapore, and other copanies take part as per department.

Rendezvous, the cultural festival of Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.Rendezvous sees participation from a large number of students from over 350 colleges all over Delhi and nearby states of Punjab, Haryana, UP and Rajasthan with a footfall of over 50,000. Rendezvous boasts of performances by the stalwarts of the entertainment industry, from India and abroad. In the past, celebrities like Rabbi Shergill, Javed Ali, Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Imran Khan, Tania Sachdev, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Tom Alter have come and been a part of the events in this festival.

Fee is very less compared to other institutions. One will also receive a monthly fellowship of about INR 8000 per month which is given by MHRD on the basis of GATE scores during admissions and this will continue based on the scores obtained by students in academics. Typical fee for M.Tech is about INR 12000-15000 per semester and there is additional fee for hostel and mess which comes about INR 2000-3000 per month.

100% student loan is available from SBI inside the campus and there are more than 20 types of fellowships available based on Merit and need.There is MHRD fellowship as well for M.Tech students.
