Sastra University review

Every College has it's own advantages and disadvantages.By considering in positive side the College has skilled teaching staff along with a neat exam pattern which tests skills and knowledge of the students and also encourages students through many events and promotes practical learning.On negative side the College is somewhat strict against students and some staff shows partiality in students which is not a good sign at all.

The course structure was nice and cool. The College encourages students in both technical and non technical fields. College organises some yearly events like daksh,theta,colloseum e.t.c through which every student can exhibit his/her own talents. The exam papers are prepared by our staff itself since it's a deemed university and the quality of questions is good enough to test the student knowledge.

There are plenty of opportunities to get placed in top MNC's and reputated companies. There is a good training and placement faculty team which guides and prepares students for placements from third year itself. The average placement percentage is about 90% which is a very good numbers in compare to other Colleges.Some of the companies that visited in this year are PayPal,Amazon,Adobe,Cloudera,Hp,Mindtree,e.t.c.There is also facility to do internship in last semester if the company provides internship.The highest package in this year was 48 lakhs given by Adobe.

Our College encourages students to participate in both technical and non technical fields by organising yearly events like daksh,kuruksastra,theta, colloseum e.t.c. Daksh is a technical event festival where workshops,debates,project competitions will be held. Colloseum is a sports event where various Colleges in tamilnadu are invited and held amongst them.Theta and kuruksastra are cultural events.

In compare with other deemed universities it is feasible I think because there is no donation seats here and almost all seats are filled through merit itself. So it's very reasonable fees and also I think from this academic year the College has raised their annual fee which i don't know exact numbers.

The College has partnered with city union bank to provide education loan facility to its students at a lower interest rates.The College provides scholarship for the merit students who scored highest marks in semester exams by taking top 10% of the students as Dean's list.

The College never shows any partiality regarding gender. Infact the College male to female ratio is quite good and there will be no discrimination in any events,sports,studies anywhere.By conducting yearly events College promotes students in sports too. Lab infrastructure is good and the College also have research labs where anyone can go and do research along with the staff in his own area of interest.

I hadn't opted hostel facility but some of my friends are staying in hostel. Boys and girls have seperate hostels and seperate mess. The food is not bad and the hostel seats are limited.The hostel facility is provided to the students only to the people whose place is not in 70km radius of the College.The remaining students can opt for bus facility.Those who wants to stay outside of the College need to take rentals in thanjavur city which is 17km from the campus.

The seniors are very kind and informative who assists in all fields like exams,sports, placements e.t.c. College will conduct alumni once a year for previously passed out students.Eventhough tjere is no ragging in the campus there is a healthy relationship between the seniors and juniors.

I applied through the College portal and there will be 2 categories 1st one is combination of jee mains marks and intermediate marks through which 75%of seats will be allocated and second one is only intermediate marks through which remaining 25% seats will be allocated.I joined through 1st section.

All the staff members are highly qualified almost every one has a p.h.d degree. Every staff member has to do research in his/her respective fields which indicates that how much the College is interested in research.
