Remarks
The College has decent infrastructure though upgrading some of lab equipment might be required soon. The College badly needs to use the technology it has. Staff are very reluctant to actually use technology in classes. Technology enabled learning is necessary to improve the quality of teaching in the classes.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is rigid and does not allow for much variance in students' timetable. Assignments and quizzes are up to the respective course coordinators and vary every semester. Each semester feels different. Some are hectic and some are chilled
Placement Experience
Placements and job opportunities are many. Various companies ranging from product companies like Paypal and ZOHO to service companies like Vuram, Virtusa and Infosys come to the College. The College allows internships in the last year and our seniors in the IT department had stipends ranging from 4LPA to 6.5LPA
College Events
Each department in the College conducts their own symposium. All departments have their own associations which coordinates and funds their respective symposia. There is no cultural event. Hostel day is celebrated by the hostelers in the College. It is a day of revelry, fun and enjoyment
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure has recently undergone a change. It totals out to a little over 6 lakhs including hostel fees which is a expensive for the facilities provided. The transport fees range from 6000 per year to over 40000 per year
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship is provided by the Alumni association of our College. Loan availability is pretty good since the College has a good reputation for placements along with its sister concern (Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College).
Campus Life
Sports participation is pretty low. The students' schedules are managed by the College and do not allow any free time. The Choice Based Credit System has been implemented only on paper as there aren't enough students to properly implement it. This leaves no time for the students to hone their skills in extracurricular activities. Staff allow for practice if there is a written request by the PE staff which is not easy to obtain.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students' helpfulness depends totally on one's individual relationship with them. One must maintain at least cordial relationships with their seniors to get any kind of help from them. Alumni network is pretty much non-existent.
Admission
The merit list is published online by the government of Tamil Nadu. Then the students attend the online "interview" where they can select a College of their choosing from the list of Colleges that accept them
Faculty
Most have at least intermediate level knowledge of the course they teach. Some are experts and are able to bring that knowledge to their classes. Very few have lower knowledge and are relegated to administrative positions only.
