College Review

College management is good and easy to access any facilities. There are free medical facilities available as well. One bad thing about NIT Raipur is that they don't have enough hostels and thus only 30-35% students get the hostel facility on the basis of their grades in college.

Curriculum is nice and got even better since last year after they updated the syllabus and curriculum. We have two Class Test and 1 final end semester exams. The college does focus on practical knowledge which acts as a catalyst in improving the professional skills. We also had courses to improve soft skills and mental and physical health. Yoga lessons are also a mandatory part of curriculum.

I am second year right now and Very reputed companies like Amazon, DE Shaw etc. come to recruit both full time and interns. They offer good packages which is atleast greater than 6 lpa and good companies like Amazon offered 28 lpa this year. Average salary in my branch was around 12 lpa this year.

Technical fest (Aavartan), Cultural Fest (Eclectica), Entrepreneurshi Summit (E-Summit), Singing Fest (Shruti), Drama Fest ( Rangmanch) and many more small events like dandiya night, garba night, kite festival etc. are celebrated. All the above fests are at great level and students from various colleges of Raipur and Durg come to participate in the events. Eclectica is central India's largest cultural fest.

Fee Structure is feasible and there is scholarship for those who cannot afford to pay the fees. Thus, students from all economic background can study there. Tution fees for those students whose family income is less than 1 lakh is free and those between 1 lakh to 5 lakh gets discount of 67%.

College have scholarship facilities on the basis of annual family income. As my family annual income is around 3 lpa ( between 1 to 5 lpa), i got a discount scholarship of 67%.

Campus life is not that good as it's very small campus. There are not enough playgrounds and they are also poorly maintained. There is no nightlife in campus and canteen also closes at 7 pm in evening. Canteen have very small menu available and also a bit pricy. Gender ratio is also very bad as there are only around 18% girls in the class.

Yes, I live in hostel there. Hostels have 3 tier rooms i.e. there are 3 students in one room. Rooms do not have proper maintenance and thus rooms are not in that much good conditions. Bathrooms are also dirty and unhigeinic generally as they don't clean it regularly. Food is average, good enough to survive. There are not enough hostels and thus only around 30-35 % students get hostel facilities. Leaving in P.G. outside the campus genaerally costs about 7000-8000 which includes 2500-3000 in lodging, 2000-3000 for fooding and rest on personal expenses.

Alumni network is good and they also provide funds to the college sometimes. There is also a Alumni Building namely Golden Tower which contains a well-dine restaurant Indian Coffee House and many more facilities are to be made available there.

I wanted to become a techie and according to my rank in Jee Main, i got my preferred branch in this college. I took Jee main exam. It's an entrance exam to get admission in NITs around the country. Then after my result, i participated in Councelling. There were seven rounds in the Councelling and i got my first allotment in 6th round in IIEST Shibpur and i had to reserve my seats by reporting physically at NIT Patna ( any NIT nearby ). l went through all the procedures there. Then in 7th round i got NIT Raipur and had to go through admission procedure. I reported to the college with required documents and then went through all procdures there and finally got the admission.

We have 6 subjects in a semester and thus 6 lectures. They are generally aged between 30-50 and have good industry experience and some also have foreign exposures or are trained in foreign countries. We are always free to contact them by physically meeting them in their cabin or can contact them on Whatsapp.
