Remarks

The things that can be said negative about my college are the faculties and the hostel facilities. The faculties could work a bit more efficient. Also the funds from the government can be utilized properly and so the hostel and the college infrastructure can be developed.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course structure is good. Whoever learns the course properly will gain a huge knowledge. Not all the people do that. Only about 5 percent of the students do that.So the remaining students feel difficult to survive after graduation.Sometimes the labs are too frequent.3 days of the week are hectic fue to the labs. I don't feel the exams to be hectic.

Placement Experience

2.5

No big companies turn up. Before sometime, Bosch was the biggest company turning up for placements. But now they are also not coming. Some management companies and if core, the students can go Off-Campus and get placed. IT companies recruit more students than the core companies.

College Events

4.5

There are a lot of events in our college. Each department will conduct their own symposium and a function to welcome the newcomers. Also there are different clubs in our college. Each club conducts their own function. Other than this CULTURALS happen every year and a sports day every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is feasible. Not too expensive. The college fee is around 6500 rupees and the hostel fees is about 6000 rupees. For food, each month I am paying around 2000 rupees. I feel that this is affordable. Not too expensive. No college has a better fee structure than this.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't avail any kind of scholarships or loans. But there are scholarships to students. The state government will offer a scholarship to the students based on the community. SC and ST students get about 25000 rupees while the other community students get about 9000 rupees. In addition to this, the alumni provide scholarships to some selected students based upon their GPA.

Campus Life

2

The sports facilities are not bad.Almost there are teams for every sport. Students actively participate in sports. Also there are various clubs like Rotaract club, Green club, Tamil language club, Literary and debating society and so on. In these clubs the gender ratio is almost 1. Both boys and girls actively participate in them and the interaction between opposite genders is in the right way. To say something on the economic status, almost all are from middle class families.

Hostel Facilities

2

To be honest, hostels are poor. The facilities are too less. Proper maintenance is not there. Since it has been a long time since the hostel was built, the infrastructure has become quite poor. It needs some renovation.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni greatly help the students. They offer scholarships. They conduct some orientation programs. They share valuable advice. They share their own working experience. All these things are greatly helpful to the students.Senior students also help us whenever we require them.

Admission

I chose Mechanical over other courses because the area which I wished to be a part of is Aeronautics.I couldn't get that branch of engineering. So I thought of doing a UG in Mechanical and a PG in Aeronautics. The admission process was thourough Anna University Counseling.

Faculty

2.5

The faculties are well equipped. They have a vast knowledge. But sometimes they are lazy.they don't take time to teach what they know. They make the students to study on their own almost all the time.

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.

Placement Experience:

1.) Placement begins from the pre-final year and we are allowed to apply for companies from the final year. 2.) Around 70% of the class gets placed in reputed companies with an average CTC of 4-8 LPA. 3.) Along with core biotech companies, many IT companies are also hiring students at a very decent package. 4.) I plan to pursue a master's after this course.
