Remarks
Our College gives more freedom compared to any other colleges in India so that students pursue what their interest is in like drama, acting, sports, cultural activities, photography, Volunteering clubs etc.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course mainly focusses on practical knowledge and has regular lab sessions which are held parallel to the theoretical classes which are very helpful for the students. Most of the days are short you have 3-4 classes a day, it may be in the morning or afternoon. Labs are held on one of the 6 days which are a bit hectic. The exam pattern is not so stressful as the weightage is equally distributed with assignments and end sems.
Placement Experience
We have campus placements, most companies visit during the seventh semester and the highest package goes upto 35 lacs and average being 6-7 lacs. So.e of the companies that visit our campus are Microsoft, Maruti, Mercedes, Bosch, Tata motors, Exon Mobil, Samsung, Amazon, Reliance, General electric, Schneider electric, Saint Gobain, Accenture, Deloitte etc.
College Events
There are 2 fests namely TechTatva which is an annual Technical fest, students from different colleges across India participate in this fest and the other being Revels which is the annual Cultural fest and it's one of the biggest fests in any college in India and has been recognised by the government of India.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The tution fees for one year is 3.75 lacs, and the hostel fees is around 1.5 lakh, which is to my opinion expensive considering other engineering Colleges in India. But I feel it is worth it as MIT Manipal gives freedom to pursue your interest like no other college.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our college offers scholarship to students who secure top 100 ranks in the entrance exam and have loan facilities too. Scholarships are awarded to students coming from not so strong background which I feel is a good initiative by the institute to provide top class education for those who cannot afford it.
Campus Life
There are so many clubs, sports clubs, Student chapter clubs, student project teams which participate in competitions abroad. Student diversity is to be appreciated as the students here are culturally diverse and come from across different states and countries.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are well maintained and luxurious and there are AC and Non AC rooms, the rooms are allocated on CGPA basis and to get a room of your choice your GPA must be good and there are single attached bath and double attached bath. The facilities and infrastructure is top class.
Alumni/Alumna
MIT has one of the best alumni in India. Microsoft CEO, Nokia CEO, Muthoot CRO are all graduates from MIT Manipal. The alumni network is also great and it is very helpful for students who want to work in the line of their interest.
Admission
Mechanical Engineering in MIT Manipal is one of the finest in the country. Considering Mechanical stream being the oldest here, MIT Manipal has the best faculties in this department. Admission was based on the entrance exam marks secured. There is a cut off rank for every branch and based on the rank you secure you are called for counseling process where you will have to choose your branch.
Faculty
MIT Manipal has almost 600+ faculties out of which many teachers have a Ph.D degree and the teachers have good knowledge and are very helpful in assisting you regarding the subject of your interest. Considering Mechanical engineering being one of the oldest branches here, MIT Manipal has the best faculty in the mechanical department.
