Remarks
The campus is really cool you will enjoy here it also has all the facilities for research and extra curricular activities are also very good. Cultural and technical festivals of IIT madras are very big. The administration is very organised and its totally online(even the mess registration is online). Only Problem Is you have to have good rank in entrance exams to get IITM.
Entrance Preview
I took graduate aptitude test For Engineers this year(2015) and i scored 66.67/100. IIT Madras is no doubt one of the best research institute in the country. The faculties here are world class and there is a huge scope of extra curricular activities as well and no doubt it is equipped with all research facilities like labs and projects.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course i choose is M.Tech in Metallurgy and materials science perhaps the best department of country academic wise.27 well knowledgeable faculties are here from which 15 are profs.we can choose elective course of our wish from the 1st semester itself.They are having a wide range of electives like ceramics or polymers and etc.
Internships Opportunities
I didnt had my internship yet but i can tell the word of wouth. Most of the companies give stipend in the range of 10-20K. But that solely depends on your performance lot of companies visit IIT Madras for internships like TATA steel, Jindal steels, Google, Microsoft and etc.
Placement Experience
The placements here are great nearly 250 companies visit the campus for the students studying in the final year of there course. I can not list all the companies in a review. But to name Microsoft, Facebook,Google regularly visit IITM.
Fees and Financial Aid

Campus Life
Like all the premier institute IIT Madras is also not a exception obviously the gender ration is quite low campus life is great here campus is spread over an area of 620 acres and has all the facilities. 1. Students activity center 2 Open Air theatre 3. Swimming pool 4. Sports COmplex5. Gymkhanato name a few sports facilities are also good here. Having extraordinary grounds for playing. 1. Cricker(obviously) 2. Basketball 3.Tennis 4.lawn tennis 5.Football and so on and so forth in every hostel there is a TT ROom senior Students and companies organise workshops in each fiels. Whether its robotics or matlab. At VSC regular debate session, spech classes will be conducted.
Hostel Facilities
The Hostels are very good there are a total of 18 hostels including girls hostels where extracurricular activities complement the academic routine so no need of stay outside. Dining facilities are provided in two centralised halls dubbed 'Vindhya' and 'Himalaya messes have both type of food menu viz north indian or south indian. The mess and hostel fees for each semester will be 20150 rs.Food : 7/10Hostel Facilities : 9/10.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni and international relationship is very good here most of the funding for events comes directly from alumni seniors are good here no scope of ragging and all.
