Apart from the lack of placement facilities, Presidency University is one of the best choices for students who want to pursue higher education in terms of quality and feasibility.
Course Curriculum Overview
There are 20 papers divided across 6 semesters. In the first 4 semesters, there are gen.ed courses apart from the honours course in which students of humanities are supposed to take at least two science subjects and vice-versa for the science students. There are 2 practical papers each in the last two semesters which teaches students how to write an academic paper, conduct surveys, how to present a paper and so on.
Placement Experience
As I mentioned earlier, the only limitation of this department is the lack of placement facilities.
College Events
The university organises a fest called 'Milieu' every year in which students of different departments and universities participate and showcase their talents and skills, technical and cultural. Apart from the fest, a Fresher's week is organised in which the new students are given a chance to showcase their talents like dancing, singing, painting, sports and so on.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee is very less which allows students from different economic backgrounds to pursue their dream of higher education in this university. There is an admission of rs. 3300 and then rs.1100 per semester. To sum, the whole course is costing only rs. 8800.
Fees and Financial Aid
For scholarship, notifications shall be given by the authorities according to which students have to apply. The students have to maintain a grade point of a minimum of 7.5.
Campus Life
As I mentioned in the ibid question, the fee structure is very reasonable which allows students from different economic backgrounds to pursue their education in this place. Consequently, the degree of tolerance for diverse ethnicity, race, religion, culture, gender, sexual orientation and political opinions is really very high in this university.
Alumni/Alumna
The Presidency University's alumni network is one of the best in India. In fact, much of the university's funds come from the donations of its alumni network only.
Admission
The university entertains applications for two courses. I had applied for History and Political Science. Although I topped the entrance exam for History, ultimately I opted for Political Science as it is one of the best departments in the university. To be honest, the university is more suitable for those students who want to stick to academics only.
Faculty
There are 10-14 teachers in the faculty with having an average age of 30-35. There are only 2 senior teachers in the department, the HOD and the Dean of Arts. Most of them have completed their doctoral thesis and often go to foreign universities for presenting their papers.
