An enriching experience

Ruia had been an enriching experience. It has exposed me to different people and different possibilities. It has helped me grow as a person. It has a huge role in me being the person that I am today. I have grown intellectually and emotionally. It had given be a great set of companions and every person you meet in Ruia greets you with a warm smile.

After the college got its autonomous status the marks were divided into a 60- 40 pattern where 60 marks where given for normal semester exams was 40 marks for internals. The topics on which the 60 marks question paper was based to cover all the main and basic components of each subjects. In the second year these subjects were later divided into 2 papers. To procure the internal 40 marks students were made to write and submit analysis on the subjects, give presentations and write an internal 20 marks exam. Finding answers thourough surveys or enacting plays for literature classes wad also encouraged.

I feel the only place where the college lacks is with providing placements or internships. No such facilities are provided to the students. But the professors are very dedicated and encouraging towards the students and help them in the process.

Cultural events are a huge part of Ruia. Utsav Aarohan the annual festival is celebrated every year. Other events such as Freshers party or Rose day are also organized. There are events where students can exhibit their entrepreneur skills. Also every department has their department festival once a year.

Ruia is a government aided College hence the fees here a lot cheaper compared to other colleges. Some part of the fees are to be paid during the admission process. Freeships and scholarships are provided by the government to the students that reduce the amount of the fees to be paid.

Freeships are provided by the government to economically backward students or to students with caste reservations. The forms for the fresships are to be filled online and then the documents are to be submitted to the college.

Ruia has a gym, a boxing area, a rifle shooting area, a badminton court and a place for students to learn Taekondo. Sport events are organized every year. There are many people in Ruia who are talented and interested in the performing arts. Hence they apply for the various teams and Natkyavalay Commitee.

Alumini have a club where they donate for the activities conducted in the college. They guide and answer questions for the current students of the college. Some of the famous alumi of Ruia are popular sportsperson and part of the indian cinema industry.

The admission forms were first to be filled online. And an offline form had to be collected from the college office. After you filled out the online form a merit list was displayed on the basis of which the students or the candidates were given admission in the college. Then offline procedure for admission took place where the candidate had to choose the subjects and present the necessary documents along with the offline admission form. Some of the criteria for the candidate to have the desired subjects was their marks in the HSC exam.

The faculty differs for each department. Departments like the Department for Philosophy, Sanskrit, History, Political Science have some of the best and most dedicated sets of professors who encourage curiosity and questions among their students.
