Review of PSGCAS, Coimbatore.

Our students call our college as PSGCAS HEAVEN. It is like that most likely. You will have all the freedom that you want and the same time you will receive good education and training and experience.

The Course structure was well designed and we will receive updates regarding the syllabus and our assessments. We have two to thouree cumulative assessment based on the papers we have for that semester and a final exam for that particular semester. Our exams will be easy enough for everyone and the Labs were also cool and we have all the latest equipments related to our course. We have a well equipped professional studio for students to create television production and other activities.

We have placement and job opportunities. We have got campus interview for our students. Television channels, Production houses of tamil film Industry and directors, editors, art directors from indian film industry hire students from our college as assistants or as professionals. Tamil TV channels like Sun network, Zee network provide job interviews for our students. The stiped was starting from 25000 - 60000. It is based on the companies and the post that our students hired for.

Our department of Visual Communication and electronic media conducts a national level short film festival named PATHIVUGAL. We invite students across india to screen their short films in our college. The good films will be shortlisted and be rewarded with cash prizes. There is also category based prize. Prizes for best acting, direction, editing, sound, writing and Cinematography. We are doing this for past 17 years. This year we are celebrating Pathivugal on March 19 and 20, 2020. This is the 17th edition of Pathivugal. Like our department every other departments in our college will have their own department functions. As a Common Culturals we celebrate CASCALL and EUPHORIA for every academic year.

The fee is feasible. We have to pay for a year and not for each semester separately. For a year we are paying Rs.67,000 as tution fee. And there will be no other additional payments as extra fee. We have to semester exam fee for every semester and a breakage fee at every year end for our lab use.

There are loan facilities availabe for aided students where the government take care of 90% of their tution fee. There are scholarships availabe for every students which will fall under certain circumstances.

Every department will have a industrial visit based on their studies. And they will be involved into field related works as their internships. There will be workshops conducted often for the students related to their current study papers. Everyone are equally important in our college. The management also sees in the same way. The students here are independent and they will be permitted to express their views if there is some student issues. There will be no inequality in any form.

The hostels are available for both boys and girls. There are 10-12 Girls hostel and only 3 boys hostels. So it is quite difficult for the boys to get a room inside hostel. We should apply early in that case. The infrastructure was quite good and the maintenance is also good. It's based on the hostel you choose. If choose New boys hostel the fee will be 90k, if NRI hostel the fee will be 104k and if Bharathi Hostel the fee will be 60k. The quality will differ based on the hostel and the fee you pay. The rooms are shareable. There are sharing options available. We can choos 3 or 4 people sharing rooms. Even 2 sharing rooms are also available.

Our senior students often come to our college and share their experiences of them in the industry. They'll give us contacts that will help us to improve our skills and they will introduce us to people who are currently working in industry to create ourselves a job opportunity. Our almni are working in Disney animation and many of them are directed movies in tamil film industry.

I've been always interested in Photography and Media. I've searched thourough a lot of college for my UG course and I came across PSGCAS, Coimbatore. I read about the college and enquired students about the coaching and all the other facilities and then I finally decided to take the course here. The staffs here are very professional.

Most of our staff members are alumni of our college. They studied here and now they are working here. No one can know the place and students better than them. They were specialized in certain fields and worked on it to gain good knowledge and experience until they came into the teaching. We have staffs who have great experience in tamil film industry, Graphic designing industry and in 3D Animation. Every staff will encourage us and motivate us to find what we are really good at.
