College is really good in terms of infrastructure, placements and exposure. Opportunities are available there but its individual who needs to grab it.

The curriculum is NAAC approved and is elective & credit based where students are allowed to choose courses 8 subjects of their choice where 5 belongs to the department you belons and 3 independent of your department. The exams are conducted each and every month, which make the schedule of students quite hectic. Exams are not research driven but interested students can contact faculties for research purpose. The curriculum is really good as it helps you when you write your placement exams. They do have personality development classes.

Around 95% gets placed each year and more than 500 companies visit for placements. The procedure followed is elimination method, first filtration happens with respect to cgpa obtained and then placement exams are conducted followed by interviews. Institute keeps special classes in 3rd year for students based on placements where everyone is prepared for their placement exams and full guidance is given how they should approach the placement process.

There are many cultural and technical events conducted in college. Aaruush is a 4 days national level technical event conducted every year in month of August-September and every year around 15 to 20 thousand students participate in it. Milan is cultural fest of the same scale as Aaruush and is conducted in month of march.

Program fees was 8,00,000 for course. College doesn't provide full transparency in fee breakdown. College doesn't accept neft and rtgs, all other modes of payments are accepted. It is expensive but it also provides students with lots of exposure which is genuine in terms.

I have opted for education loan and its really easy to get the education loan. You just need to get the official fees estimate from college and give the same to bank and bank will do rest of the process.

Gender ratio is around 50 60 girls for every 100 boys. Students are from different backgrounds and religion from all over the country and international students are studying here. There are more than 100 students clubs in the college which are from different departments. There are 2 cricket/football grounds and 2 badminton courts and multiple tennis and different courts for multiple sports. There are more than 5 laboratories for each subject.

I stayed in hostel and college have sufficient number of hostels to accommodate students in it. There are hostel facilities with double, triple and four sharing. There are flats available for rent nearby and approximate average rent per month is around Rs 6000.

The alumni network of institute is really strong with more than 50000 connections. The notable alumni are cricketer murli vijay and varun chakravarthy and many more.

I opted for software engineering because I studied computer science in my 11 & 12th standard and I found computer science subject really interesting and I thought that I could really do well in field of computer science. I pursued my software engineering from SRMIST because SRMIST is one of the most prestigious and premium institute located in kanchipuram district and which is outskirts of Chennai city and my house being located in Chennai. The admission process were based on counselling methods where you are called for counselling after writing SRMJEE and information about all the courses is given and choice is given to you with regards to availability of seats in each course.

Around total of 2000 lectures were conducted in 8 semesters in 4 years. The age of professors would be around 40 45 years and almost all the faculties ahd qualities of m. Tech and PHD. Teaching staff was not that good with the content they are suppose to teach, but they were always helpful.
