Kartik's Review On DAV College, Amritsar

I had passed my schooling from dav public and got an easy admission just because of my marks. I got 92.6% in 12 standard through which I got 50% scholarship from dav college. A small conversation with admission department was enough for my selection.

Good companies came and my future is on a bright path. Various IT companies came and now I am recently working in a call centre. Great opportunity for me to prove myself. A bright student could get a much better job than I am in.

Placements are very up to the mark if you are an intelligent and hardworking student. There ample number of opportunities given. Many companies like vols and many IT sector companies came for interview and the packages are like 200000, 250000, 300000 etc. It just depends on how well the person has given interview.

There are many festivals celebrated like dial festival and many more are celebrated according and as the festivals come. Sports day ,environment day all such functions are held so people get an opportunity to explore them. Moreover these are often big functions and also involves various political personalities.

There are many scholarships given by this college. And 8 have availed one scholarship when I entered this college. As I got 92.6%in 12 I got 50%scholarship .so there is a great opportunity for intelligent ones who wanted to study with a scholarship.

This college has given me a great opportunity to really boosten up my inner qualities. There are many workshops which are held in the college and which had helped me in choosing a right career. There are many girls and I think gender ratio is about 75 girls per 100 boys. It's quite a good experience as college organises great activities.

I am from amritsar only so there was no need of hostels and pgs. But still I would like to tell pg's are not very cheap and are neither too expensive. Aright price is charged by the nearby guest house. Fare is about 3000-9000 per month. For one room along with bathroom.

Exams are not very frequent. But it mainly used to happen twice a year. These often are quite hectic and are sometimes a chilled out experience. In starting it used to be hectic type of it but gradually became a cool one. For students exams are a fear but in this college I learnt how to overcome my fear of exams and I did quit well in my exams . All credit goes to my teachers and the staff who pushed me in my hard times.
