Remarks
Only negative thing that hurts the most is the curfew timings inside the campus at night, because of which one cannot leave hostle after typically 8pm in night, not even for library, because of which it feels like a big hampering factor, if you're working in group ror some extra project and you have to meet and do work.
Course Curriculum Overview
With respect to the focus on research, the college course curriculum is quite remarkable as it literally gives you hands on learning. Each semester we have various course projects to be built and 2nd year onwards every subject have their own course projects to be completed by the students, that too are regading new technologies. Frequency of Exams and labs are moderate, most of the time it's a balanced schedule.
Placement Experience
Placements are quite decent w.r.t other colleges of same status in india, quite a many tech giants also visit the campus for recruitment like Samsung R&D institute, Dassault systems, Bosch, Microsoft, Akamai etc. Various companies also conduct competition based on its results they recruit for internship like those by samsung, Infosys ans Bosch.
College Events
There are mainly 3 annual events of our college: Spectrum - is held round January enging, its a casual intra college, inter-department event consisting of various competition like- Dance, art, coding, murals, debate, role playing, singing etc. Pleaides- the main annual college fest, which is generally state or sometimes national level, it comprises of both cultural and tech events, spaning over3 days in the month of march or April, it's mainly famous among Karnataka college students.participation in this is highest like thousands of students. Sparsh- college/state level cultural event that happens during September, reprinsing of EDM nights, and various other artist performance, most famous after Pleaides, and participation is in hundreds.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Figures are approximate: 220000- Tution fees(per annum) 50000- accommodation fees(per annum for double sharing room for triple sharing its 35000 p.a.) 30000- annual meal plan/ mess fees To some extent its feasible with respect to an engineering course in a private university of India.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship for reserved categories and rank holders in KCET(state entrance exam) is there. There is a system of scholarship amount slabs offered to local students, set up by the Karnataka state government. Also special category scholarship for disabled students and students from Jammu and Kashmir is also there to be availed which is in case of J&K origin students given by Central government. Otherwise if you are outside Karnataka resident then you will have to apply for general loans in public or private banks.
Campus Life
Gender ratio here is quite balanced as per my raw observation, moreover equal opportunity are there for both the genders. There is as such no dorm system/party, just normal junior and senior girls/boys hostel for accommodation. Student diversity is quite high, almost all states of India are represented on campus, although not with same frequency. On a regular intervals one can observe loads of workshops regarding different fields being held in different auditorium or seminar halls of the college. Cultural society is quite active in view of a college present in a tier-2 city of india. People with all sorts of economic and religiousbackground are present in the campus. Also racial, religious, gender and political tolerance is high.
Alumni/Alumna
Although we have not yet formally interacted with any alumni of the college, but the seniors are quite helpful in gaining insight about latest trends and guidance regarding to the field you wan to pursue, although formal meet up is only during various club meet ups but informal meetups keep happening.
Admission
I am a resident of Delhi, as i am not a native here so I had to appear for COMEDK Entrance exam, which is held for non- kannada student wanting a seat in engineering colleges present in Karnataka. After the results and hence the ranks were announced, i was given a slot date to attend for counseling which was to be held in Bangalore, there i chose CSE stream of this college of all the available options after researching all the online and local feedbacks and referring to NIRF ranking, moreover CSE was the stream i naturally wanted to pursue. That's how I opted for this college and its course.
Faculty
Except for a few faculty, all are eager to share their extra practical knowledge, and even work with students on their side projects provided it's worthy enough. Most of them are PhD holders while all others are atleast Post graduates. Most of them no matter how strict focus on bringing up real life examples while teaching.
