Remarks
My time in this college was forgettable. The only good thing in it was the societies. I'd been in a society for a year and a half so I've seen enough of both sides of the coin to gauge which part of college life was better.
Course Curriculum Overview
It’s relevant but doesn’t do well to help students master one particular thing. Jack of all trades, master of none.
Placement Experience
Placements were negligible too. In our batch, only 3-4 people got placed by the college and that too in unknown organisations. The rest who got jobs were thourough their own steam. The college took no steps to prepare anyone for placements.
College Events
Our campus was merely a single building so we hardly had any events on campus. And the ones we did, were quite cringeworthy in their execution. We’ve had prelim rounds for the university annual fest on our campus once. Besides that, the students of BA(JMC) also organise an annual college fest as part of their curriculum. Funding and budget is always stingy and that is clear in the final outcome. The college has no convocation. Graduating from this place is rather unceremonious and underwhelming.
Fee Structure And Facilities
We had to pay 93k for a year. It was a 3 year course. With every year, the fees increases. We gave an additional amount upon admission for the Alumni association. The alumni association does not seem to really exist practically as we have not been referred anywhere despite being alumnus. We also gave a large amount in the form of a security deposit which still hasn’t been returned to us since almost a year of graduating.
Campus Life
Cultural societies were the only thing that kept the college alive. Initially, the college showed absolutely no support to societies. But once they saw them bringing awards and recognition to the college, they began giving them attention. The support was always very transactional. Many a times, societies were forced to take part in events against their will, with their attendance kept under ransom.
Hostel Facilities
No. We don’t have hostels. I’m being asked to fill 200 characters.
Alumni/Alumna
If you're friends with your seniors, you're good to go. Don't expect any help from an almost non-existent alumni association.
Admission
I gave the entrance test for BA(JMC) for IP University and received the rank of 466. Had I been a resident of Delhi, I would have been awarded a better college. In this college, I was among people who had scored between 1200-1600 in the same paper. They got in because they were from Delhi.
Faculty
Most of our profs were either pursuing their masters or just completed them. Most of them had negligible experience in their subjects. Just a handful were impressive in their knowledge. Some were not at all related in any way to their subjects.
