Iiit Jabalapur review

Till 2019, there was not a permanent director so at that time institute slowed its curve of progress but when new director came the institute has caught its speed.

In this Institute for B.tech, thouree branches are there. In first two semesters, same courses are offered to all the students irrespective of their branches. In the course curriculum the courses which contains the syllabus of GATE are offered, they are called the core courses. Other than the core courses, two types of electives are offered to the students, one which are opened to all branches and other which are offered by the branch head in their respective branches. Examination STRUCTURE Quiz 1 After about 40 days of semester started, proffesors takes 1st quiz of their respective subject. Weightage of quiz 1 may be 5% to 15% depending upon the proffesor. Mid semester exam Mid semester exam dates are fixed be the proffesor incharge before the the semester start. Weightage may be 25 to 35 percent depending upon proffesor. Quiz 2 Weightage is equal to quiz 1. And nearly 30 days after the mid semester exam End sem exam Dates are pre fixed. Weightage may be 40 to 60 percent depending upon proffesor. RESEARCH AND PROJECT Institute provides fund from the beginning of the 1st semester for the projects. Projects may be research based or a working prototype. Mantors are assigned to each group of the projects. Many proffesors offers compulsory projects in their subjects and in the lab bases projects which have extra credits. So many professional courses were offerd to me in this institute which are offered in higher education but we studied those courses in our under graduation. Courses are offered seeing the flow of the market. Those courses are Blockchain Technology, Machine Learning, Deep learning, Artificial intelligence, Cloud computing, Image processing, Multimedia processing, Cryptography and the same type of the courses are offered to respective branches.

The Placement record of the Institute is very good. Mainly IT based companies visits for campus placements. For mechanical there are less companies but mechanical students take part in IT based companies if they have programming knowledge. So many companies visits for recruitment drive out of which some big names which offers a big amount are- Amazon, Brahmos aerospace, Samsung, Direct-i Jio, Zolo, Canon, IBM, Oracle, Coviam, Yantriks, Vassar labs, LTI, TCS, Jaro Group, PXIL, Ericsson, capegemini, L&T, MAQ Software, DELTAX, JusPay, American Express, Infosys, Quantiphi INC, Oracle offs. These are the regular recruiters and many more also. About more than 95% students gets job offer which was registered in Placement cell. Placement cell notifies students time to time for learning the skills which are necessary to get a job.

There are 3 big festivals in college. Cultural fest which is called Tarang, in which various cultural Comptetions are held between the contestants invited from the different colleges of the country. About 15-20 colleges comes every year in tarang. Technical fest( ABHIKALPAN ), So many technical events are takes place like robowar, cryptocracker, programming comptetions, management quiz, Racing quiz, automobile quiz, Hackathon, LED comptetion, CAD model comptetion. More than 20 colleges participates in the fest Sports festival ( GUSTO ) About all the games which are popular in India are played in Gusto and about 30 to 35 teams comes to celebrate this festival with iiitians.

For Genral and OBC category one semester tution amd hostel fees is 55,000 inr. In case of SC/ST tution fees is 10,500 and mess. Mess fees for all students is 10,000 per semester. If anyone is weeker economically and his family income is less than 250,000, MCM scholarship is provided in which all the tution fees is refunded after each semester. If anyone can't fill the Tution fee before than this fees is deducted from MCM scholarship. For the top 10 percent pf the batch extra 12,000 MCM scholarship is provided.

Campus life is very chill. Campus is in very peaceful environment, very far away from the city. A very good internet connection is provided which have a 100 Gbps speed. For sports student activity center is there. And for extra curricular differclubs are there. Like for dance, drama, singing, design and many more. At my time in my branch girls and boys ratio was 1:3 but now by MhourD rule 17 percent reservation is for girls so girls and boys will be 1:2.

Yes, Hostel is compulsory for all the students. For all the girls room are smaller in the size so in single room a single girl. And for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year boys a room is shared by 3 students. And for final year boys also a single room is provided. For Each student, a table, a chair and a cupboard and a tubelight, a lan cable is provoded in the room. Hostel rent is neerly 7000 per semester which is included in those 55000 of tution fees.

This is most beautiful part of the institute. Here if you are connected to any senior, he will definitely help you directly or indirectly. Placement advice, difficulty in the course, they helps in each situations. Alumni connect of the college is on alma matter and alumni always gives fund to the college for different activities. They comes here for motivation talks. Alumnis helps placement cell to invite a company for campus placement.

For getting admission in this college, everyone must qualify Jee Main examination which was conducted by CBSE at my time but in these it is conducted by NTA. After the result of Jee Main, I participated in the counselling conducted by JoSAA. Counselling process was online where student have to select institutes/colleges by keeping their priorities in their mind. I opted this course because it was my dream since childhood to be a software engineer. The reason I choose this institute because this was the best college where I can get CSE on the rank secured by me. In the counselling I got this college after that I took admission in this college.

Courses are assigned credits according the length of the syllabus of the course. More the credit means more the classes in a week. Generally for a two credit courses we have two classes, for 3 credit also 2 classes, and for 4 credit course 3 classes, and for 5 credit course 3 classes and a 2 or 3 hours lab in a week. For completing the degree minimum 160 credits are required. In a semester 18-20 credits are offered so total classes in a week may be 12-15 with 1 or 2 labs per week.
