Remarks

Our college is an above average one with good administration. But it can surely be better.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The Course Curriculum and Exam structure is set by Indian Medical Association. Its a 4.5 years course+1 year internship +1 year rural posting. We have regular internal exams but the university exams occur at the end of 2nd semester, 5th semester, 7th semester and 9th semester. Initially the course is theoy based but later is more of a practical approach with quite enough clinical exposure and patient interactions.

Placement Experience

5

No placements. Internships are done in various departments of the college thouroughout the duration of one year.

College Events

3

College week- Symphysis Teachers day Doctors day Birthday of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Freshers- Ecstasy We have regular plantation drives Awareness campaigns Street rallies Quizzes Debates Art competitions And many more. The participation are mostly limited to our students and the management is highly appreciable.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees are quite feasible. Being a government medical colleges, we dont have to spend a lot. Annually we pay 10k as fees. But for hostel boarders, its an additional 2200 per month for accommodation and mess. No additional fees are taken by the college. Complete transperancy in fee breakdown.

Fees and Financial Aid

No I didn't apply for any scholarships. Although the college does offer scholarship opportunities to the students.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is above average. We dont have a large campus, although large enough for a nice evening stroll. The campus is clean and has quite a lot of greenery. Fresh air really adds up. Gender ratio is surprisingly good. Male: female ratio must be around 1.2:1. Quite a lot of extra-co curriculars are done in the college thouroughout the year as a stress reliever for the students. Workshops are organized frequently. There is no gender discrimination and no one is biased. Discrimination based on religion, race, caste, economic status is also not prevalent. People are busy enough with their studies and busy schedule.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Yes I have. The hostels are neat and clean with attached bathourooms and are really quite spacious. We stay 3 in a room. 24 hour electricity and water is provided. The mess food is also above average. Quite cheap if I must say.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior interaction is average. Our college is new so we don't actually have alumni. The seniors are cooperative most of the times but we face problems too.

Admission

Admission is thourough NEET-UG. The merit list leads to a counseling which allows us to get admission to the college based on our ranks. Admission occurs during july last week and is a one day process and session starts from 1st of August. The admission process is quite easy but counselling is quite tedious

Faculty

4

The lecturers follow a hierarchy as follows(descending to ascending) - demonstrators, assistant professors, associate professor, professor who is also the HOD of the department. All the members of the faculty are post graduates and are highly educated with enough exposure.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course is not at all easy like all the other courses but since this course deals with life and death situations I would say the practical applications introduction has lead to a better side of this course. This course is completedly real world based curriculum. The faculty members are well equipped to everything they teach and the methods currently focus on application based studies. This course has many exams each month and therefore the student has to study properly.
