One of the best women's education centers

Our teachers and teaching staff are very helpful and it is one of the best colleges because of this. The facilities are Immense. Every one of our classrooms are furnished with excellent benches and desks. Every classroom also has AC. The only bad thing about the college is the lack of help from the non teaching staff. They often are cluless about the happenings of the college.

The course curriculam is according to CBCS. Under this curriculam we have several honours papers, a few generic elective papers and also wome discipline specific and skill enhancement papers. It prepares you for even higher studies and also a career as an author, or critic or even a publisher.

We have regular campus placements for all the departments. For example, Wipro. There is no secific internship provided by the college.

Our college hosts several events thouroughout the year. For freshers, a freshers party is hosted by the seniors. Departmental celebrations are also hosted sometimes. For the seniors, a farewell party is also hosted. Each year, we have a fest, namely "SRIJAN" which is held in February. We also have several other inter college events during this fest, such as a photography competition, drama competition, etc. Every year the day before our Puja holidays, an art and craft and cuisine fair is held. All the profits from that event is donated to several NGOs and organisations.

The fee for my subject is about ?17k every semester. For other courses, it a bit higher. Especially courses which require the use of a computer. It is more expensive than most other colleges in the area. The fee-breakdown is very clear and no additional charges are made other than the fees. Our college only accepts Demand draft as a payment method.

Our college offers a freeship to students in need. There is no specific criteria given on the form hence it is the sole decision of the college whether a student shall receive a scholarship or not. To avail it, a student has to provide a proof of yearly income of the family and must have a bank account of her own.

Our college is a girl's college hence there is no boys. The campus life is quite fun but limited due to the heavy curriculam. We have a departmental special lecture every semester. We also have an intra-college debate every year. There is a blood donation camp held every year. Group acitivies include volunteering for NSS or LTP. There is a Bengali cultural society named "Charcha" Which students can join. This group holds regular workshops, and cultural celebrations.

Our seniors are extremely helpful. They not only are affectionate towards us, but is also very active in cultural festivals etc. The Alumni is also very helpful and supportive. Any studenr can walk up to a teacher and ask her questions without hesitation. Teachers also allow students to speak with them in case of any emergency or something important.

The admission window is opened in may- june. I filled up the form and waited for the merit list. Once I saw my name in the merit list, we were given a date of admission along with the details about necessary documents. We were to make a demand draft in the name of the college and provide ir on the day of admission. Upon arrival, a group of teachers and administrative staff helped us thourough the process of admission. It was long and tedious especially if you opted to change the generic elective subjects. However once the fees was paid, they provided us with a challan, and a prospectus and the admission process was complete.

The faculty of the college is very well informed and trained in their profession. They are helpful and always supportive. Every teacher I have met in the college is very polite and always ready to help us. Our HOD is very helpful as she always provides us with extra information, helpful tips, and recommendations for books and articles. Our teachers are all qualified and holds a Phd or an M. Phil degree.
